Nobody cares about regular season wins anymore. This is all about the playoffs...

This certainly makes lebrons 'decision' seem much more innocent. Kd is going to a ready made championship team that accomplished a great deal without him. And hes he just lost/choked to them. Plus okc was a great team.

Brons old cavs were epitome of one man team, he had no history vs miami, and heat weren't even good in recent past and had a.rookie coach. Regardless, hes so fortunate to have won this yr because it might be his last

The difference between Brons move to Miami and Durant's move to GS couldn't be any more different.

When Lebron moved to Miami with Wade and Bosch, they declared themselves the Dream team and had ticker tape parades in Miami before any games were ever played together, claiming to bring a dynasty of 10 years of championships...

Durant joins GS to a team that has manifested itself with constraint and resilience as the fresh wounds of a lost championship still burn harshly...they do not go in t this season claiming they are the best team of all Time...they are going into the next season as Draymond tweeted to KD today, to finish what we started in working together as a team for a championship.

    Well stated!

Always remember that professional sports are entertainment, first and foremost, due to the huge sums of money associated. The media/sponsors shape the narrative and determine heroes and villains. This move will actually benefit ABC/ESPN more than the Warriors, as a KD/Curry v Lebron/Irving means big rating$$$

    Perception.

7' players don't MOVE nearly as well as a 6'9" - or so they say.

The thing about KD is shots.

When in OKC he always had a defender in his face, or Westbrook would
pass him the ball at the last second, after Westbrook dribbled it around,
didn't get a shot, and the shot clock was running down.

The metrics of all of this are documented, KD is going to be A LOT more
open and be able to do a lot more with the ball.

After listening to the non-stop sports talk radio shows all morning, there is
one question begging to be answered - who is GS's fifth starter?
You'd think they only play four guys.

Think about opposing defenses. You will have to choose to double team KD or Curry. An open Curry is the most deadly player on the planet. The Cavs sold out in the plan to stop Curry at all costs...double and often triple teaming him at the top of the arc. The plan worked when Barnes and Iguadala did not hit enough wide open shots in the last 3 games. In games 1 and 2 Barnes and Iguadala hit their shots and the Warriors won easily. Based on what happened at the end of the playoffs, I think defenses will scheme to stop KD as the primary option. This is going to be deadly for most of he Warriors opponents next year...

QUICK - name the 5th starter for GS.

After listening to sports talk radio all week, you'd think GS just plays four guys.

Dubs signed Zaza Pachulia to be the starting center as Andrew Bogut has moved on to Dallas. This is the 5th starter...

I am sad to see some of the players go like Leandro Barboza, Festus Ezeli, and likely Mareese Speights. Even Barnes was a great teammate and great guy, but his performance in the finals was unforgivable. Make no mistake, this was a very "tight" team that loved playing together...and I hope and pray it remains this way. I hope and pray the chemistry continues.

Most of the media laments at the prospect that Kevin Durant has been able to join the GS Warriors. Most will say that it was so unfair for the Warriors to be able to add Durant to their team, a team that just finished a record 73 win regular season. "it's just not fair!" Everybody says.

So how were The GS Warriors able to afford Kevin Durant's 25M/year salary. The Dubs truly believe in the "strength in numbers" mantra, especially in terms of salary cap. Curry, the 2 time defending MVP of the league, only unanimous MVP in history, current NBA scoring champion, was not even the highest paid point guard in the league. As of today, there are 14 higher paid point guards in the NBA then Stephen Curry. Today, point guard Mike Conley of Memphis signed the richest contract in NBA history and currently makes 26M/year. Conley is not even a 3rd team all pro point guard. Curry's comparatively Paltry 12M/year is barely up from the 10M/year that he made the year before. Curry was not even the highest paid player on his own team. In fact, he was only the 4th highest paid player on the Warriors last year, as Thompson, Green, and even Andrew Bogut had higher yearly salaries then Curry. Sure Curry makes up a lot of the being underpaid through his hefty endorsements that he as acquired over the past year or so. However, Curry's lack of greed and incite to not cash strap his team, at the expense of his own personal benefit has allowed the Warriors to remain competitive. Curry had always said that for him, it was all about chasing a championship and he has positioned himself well to compete for a championship for the next several years.

Many good to great players over the years have taken the "cash" at the expense of making their teams less competitive. Blame Carmelo Anthony, Deron Williams, Chris Paul, etc. for making their teams less competitive by taking these 25M/year salaries. Don't blame the special players and teams that think ahead, and plan ahead, make decisions with the primary goal of striving to win championships.

The GS Warriors have put all their chips on the table after losing the heartbreaking finals this past year. In the finals this past year, Two superstars outplayed their great team. In response, They have signed a talent that is likely worth the 25M/year salary, the missing piece superstar that will likely "restore balance to the Force". All of it made possible by being unselfish in the way they play, unselfish in the way they get paid...

They are not quite as unselfish as you think. The NBA has a different structure than any other pro sport, their CBA essentially splits the revenues between players and owners 50/50. Furthermore there is a minimum and maximum that any player can earn based on seniority (very short version). Steph's next contract will be a max contract, so will others.

Has nothing to do with greed. Curry wasnt worth max deal on last contract. Gsw will lose many of their stars when next contracts come due soon. Curry will demand $30+ million/yr like all the rest

+1. Sounds like some people don't understand contracts or have forgotten history. GSW gambled on him and it's paid off. Look at Grant Hill, D Rose and others who had joint injuries and were not productive afterwards.
