Anyone ever dealt with Auto Symphony in SF or Performance Sound & Security in Campbell?

The former has a lot of experience in the field, lots of Ferrari work, etc.

Performance, however, seems to be the default winner. Noel Li (owner of Monster Cable) sends all of his cars there, lots of bay area high-flyers, etc. They have done over 300 F-Cars alone, supposedly. The guys definetly know their **** over the phone.

Any experience with either? Curious about word on them.

PSS did the stereo for my 360. They did a great job with fantastic craftsmanship. They custom made aluminum speaker enclosures for the new speakers and the amps in the trunk, as well as a fiberglass enclosure for the sub. All can be removed to return the car to stock. While I was there, 2 other f-cars were there, as well.

I live in Gilroy and would be happy to show you the car if you are near.

    Steve,

Very kind of you to offer and good to hear (hyuk hyuk). Jim (?) sounds like he knows what's going on. I'll stop by there tomorrow afternoon to take a peek.

They've done a lot of 550s, and so I'll likely check one of their 550 installs out. But, the word of confidence is great to have.

I'm curious: what did your installation entail? What did you end up choosing? I know the 360 and 550 are different cars, but I'm still curious! :D Also, what was the install time?

    Thanks again,

my mechanic moved my speakers from the front fender wells to my doors. He did a nice job of perforating the door leather to allow the speaker sound to come into the cabin. He used Alpine 4" speakers and they sound great. While the car is idling of course.
At speed, the Dino is so noisy, you really can't hear much from the stereo even at high volume! I guess your 550 is probably alot quieter inside...

    Tony,

Speaker placement in the 550 isn't ideal either. And with the exhaust, added noise from the roof rack (when I have it on), and windows down - I'm in the same boat as you.

I'm very interested to see PSS. THey seem to be the real deal. We'll find out more today.

We put a subwoofer under the dash in the space above the pedals on the drivers side. Custom enclosures were made for the amps in the trunk-it looks like it came from the factory. The speakers in the door were replaced, except the tweeters that were turned off. Enclosures of aluminum were made for tweeters and placed on the areas just in front of the doors. They look like factory materials, as well.

I had to wait a few weeks, but once they had the car they kept it about one week. After it is in, you may need to have the computers reset to turn off the check engine light.

Jim will also be offered the home theater job for our house this year. I have just started talking to him about it.

One thing I did not do is have XM put in. I just emailed Jim to see if that is feasable.
