British Formula One racing legend Sir Sterling Moss suffered broken bones and other injuries when he fell down an elevator shaft at his home this past Saturday. Following surgery, the 80-year-old is recovering at the Royal London Hospital.

Moss had been scheduled to appear at the Amelia Island Concours this weekend as part of the seminar "The Three Greats: Petty, Moss, and Garlits."

I guess Ken Visser and I will not be meeting with him at Amelia Island

    Get well soon Sterling

It's an understandable mistake - his spelling really is quite unique.

I am so very sorry to hear about this. Sadly, that Williams designed elevator was recently featured in an Octane magazine article about Stirling's “favorite” things. My sympathy and sincerest wishes for a fast recovery go out to Stirling and Susie. I have had the pleasure of meeting both of them and found them to be infinitely kind and likeable people.
