Anyone got pics?? i need to get down there and check out the new place.
I dropped off my car there yesterday. Sorry, no pics though. Stephen was working on a red 512 boxer when I arrived. Is it anyone's here? It looked fabulous. Definitely drop by if you can and hopefully he will have time to give you the full tour. The place is awesome! The grand opening event will be in September he says.
Very easy to get to. Two minutes from the ezpass tolls on i87 next to the airport. The area is run down industrial. A couple of potholes to miss. His building is completely restored and secure though. A lot of $$$$ invested in the facility by the looks of it.
Very nice space, three separate spaces, Steve's shop which he was just finishing when I visted a week or so ago, a separate space for Signature Car Club, and a large auto collection in separate locked off gallery that I think all belongs to the building owner. It's right off of McCarter HIghway (rt 21), going north, first exit to Ironbound (Miller St, then right on Avenue A). Going south on 21 a little more challenging as the left turn options end before you get to Ave A, just need to jog through the neighborhood a bit. Hopefully my Mondial will get off of Steve's lift soon and exit the neighborhood under its own power!
The collection is worth seeing if you have not already. Your Mondial was still up on the lift on Saturday I'm afraid. What's it in for?
Good to hear he's working on her! A/C componentry is starting to act its age. Both the hi- and lo-pressure switches failed (independently of course) and 2 weeks ago something went pop and then hissssssss and then no more A/C. The new facility is step up from Lodi. The shop area has four pillarless lifts and two wide garage doors on two different walls to ease getting in and out. Engine lifts and other heavy tasks will now be tackled with 2 ceiling hoists that can access any spot in the shop area. There is a separate storage area for cars which further simplifies the logistics of running the shop. And the auto collection next door is pretty cool although it was locked on Sat when I dropped off the Boxer. Old American, 50s American, some Italian fastcars, and more.
I have my 308 GTB over at Steve's as well. Have not seen the new place, but I wish Steve best of luck of course. I'll be visiting when I pick up my much missed car. (Doing new suspention, steering rack, Scuderia Rampante fuel hoses, etc)
Mine went in for a major + clutch, all hoses ( fuel & coolant) added work on bushings, suspension, etc. Unfortunately the week it was supposed to be done there were some complications in the Lodi shop that lead to a lot of extra work that hit at exactly the worst time, (baby overdue and moving time) like everything he does Steve won't turn it back until it's 200% right
