Here's a great website for Steve Fossett's Global Flyer including frequent updates on his round the world flight and a free simulator addition for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 and 2004.

Latest on website shows Steve at halfway point at 7:05:33 UTC; saved time over Japan; fuel moved from midwing tanks into booms; showing altitude currently at 45593 and 337 kts. - slight alt fluxiation, air speed increasing with very slight heading changes of 1.0+/- degrees

Sure do want to see Steve land in KS tomorrow. What an accomplished person and driven at LeMans twice!

One can addicted to the computer screen watching the live tracking.

you know rob and his wife are from Salina, right?...Jennie's parents (also mine) own the wheat field that is just north of the airstrip, and Lawrence,KS artist Stan Herd "painted" Da Vinci's flying man into the field. It is really cool, and they got VIP tickets to the landing...hopefully our mom will be able to meet John Travolta!

He did it! I spent yesterday evening "watching" him on the computer just east of Japan and hoping that the "triangle" didn't take a SE direction upon approach to the Hawaiian Islands and whew - he stayed north and was truckin east! It was really interesting watching the altitude and speed changes last evening and this morning as changes occurred with the jet stream, winds, etc.

Wonder what Steve Fossett, Burt Rutan and Sir Richard Branson have up their sleeve for an encore???
