Hi Does anybody have a really good hi quality picture of the original decals on the carb air box and air intake filter box. or where to get them from? Tony
Parker Hall at Kilimanjaro Designs, Ltd. has most. Some of the items you mentioned are silk screened. You can reach Parker at: 940 Warrenton Rd. Vicksburg, MS 39180 (601) 638-7856
I got them from a guy on EBAY!! They were extremely high quality. lemme see if I can find you his name later this evening. Dave
Does he have a web site or e-mail contact, i am in the UK. Were they only fitted to 206 and early cars? Thanks so far for all your help.
Hi Tony As Pietro says I dont think there was a sticker on the cylindrical air filter box, there was however a sticker on the box over the carbs, I shall try to get a close up of that later today Regards Dave Image Unavailable, Please Login
If it is Maurice Kwam then he gets them from Parker Hall and if you people buy on eBay then you pay the higher price.
I pulled together an image with pointers of the engine bay for earlier cars. Please note what is a sticker vs. silk screens. If you need a better photo of the silk screen on the oval air filter housing cover, let me know and I'll grab a picture. ...Keith Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Keith Any chance of a closer pic (with dimensions) as we could get them remade over here. However if someone has already made them in the US i am prepared to buy them. Does Parker Hall have a e-mail address? Tony PS nice engine bay
Glad to help. Thanks for the kind words about the engine bay - these cars are easy to cherish. Parker definitely has the air box sticker pictured on my car. His e-mail is [email protected]. Dennic McCann had the silk screens in the late 90's (which is how I got my lids painted) but his paint guy threw them away! I can photocopy my lids and then you can find a local company to make up silk screens and apply them to yours. I'm sure this will cost you a few bucks so perhaps you can rent them to other Dino owners and recoup the cost over time (if you care to). Lastly, later cars had a different carb air box sticker than the one pictured on my car. I found and attached a picture of a GTS engine bay which shows this and in fact, it has two different stickers. I also found reference to this second sticker in the 1974 USA supplement to the 246 GT issued by Ferrari. I'm not sure if this was specific to the USA cars but I remember see both in Parker's catalogue. Be sure to do your research and figure out what is right for your car and where they go. Guys with later cars, please post engine bay photos so that we can figure out when the change takes place. Cheers....Keith Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My bad, I did a search and it came back with an old e-mail address. Try [email protected] - I'm guessing that is current as I found it on the Ferrari Club of America website. Parker was/is the regional director for the Southeast chapter and is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. When I restored my Dino, I produced some Dino stickers which were unavailable at that time (early fuse boxes, early coils) and Parker now sells them exclusively. ...Keith
Thanks for that Keith Sent him a e-mail last night and returned my call today. Sending out a catalogue as well. Now thats good service Cheers Tony
You can rely on Parker Hall to tell you what you need and don't need. Several times I called him to buy something only to have him talk me out of it because the item was not correct for one of my cars. Parker is a Pebble Beach judge, a terrific guy, and a true southern gentleman, M
Here are some mediocre photos of the stickers in my unrestored, as far as I know untouched engine bay. God, you could eat off the other bays pictured here. But, why would you want to?? MRONY: Cars can be restored anytime but they can only be original once. Photos of an original car like yours are essential. In response to your question, I keep my engine bay clean enough to eat off of because my 2 year old makes a complete mess of the kitchen table and a guy has got to have a decent place to eat! Cheers...Keith
Thanks for all your help on this, much appreciated. Where else would you get such friendly help......on here of course Cheers Tony PS - If you have any other original stickers on your car [voltage reg] then feel free to post them up.
I can't get out to the garage right now -- there's a million guys working on the trees here. But I have my original voltage regulator here on my desk (the red plastic Marelli) which has no stickers, but amazingly enough is sealed with a wire and crimp like the ones you see on electric meters or gas pumps to prevent tampering. Was this a statement by the factory that there were "no user-serviceable parts inside" so keep your bloody noses out or we'll void your (non-existant) warranty, you stupid Americans??
I am away from the car for a few days... I will check as soon as I get back...late this week? Don't recall seeing one, though
