Tried Super Clean Degreaser on the sticky buttons in my 2011 California, it worked great. Just a little on a microfiber cloth and rub gently, it did not remove any of the white lettering. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Neutrogena make up remover wipes works like a charm and since they come in wipes you don't sacrifice a microfiber cloth.

I can get some after photos. I didn't take any before pictures. The dial numbers on the dash remained after the treatment. The door lock writing got washed away..

The neutrogena wipes did not work for me. They didn’t clean and they left fibers

    Repost from 575 forum:

"FWIW, I had progression of sticky buttons and other plastic parts in my '02 575. I was concerned about the process and cost of taking the interior apart and sending off for refinishing. About 6-8 years ago, I decided to take a chance of possibly doing something stupid, and spent a couple of afternoons with Armor All, micro-fiber cloths and Q-tips and got all of the black goo off of the parts, in situ. The surfaces remain sticky free. The white "writing" remained intact."

A Caveat emptor from refinishing pro:

"PS---DO NOT put Armor All on the parts unless you want a huge mess.."

Again, FWIW, my previously sticky surfaces remain sticky free after 8 years; I just went out and wiped down the plastic buttons, A/C vents, etc. again with Armor All/micro fiber cloth and only a few recessed areas produced a slight black stain on the cloth. IMO, If you are going to try a DIY remedy, I would try the parking brake handle first, it's basically hidden from view, wait a few days to make sure you don't end up with a sticky mess.

I am selling a manual 360 Spider for a client and he did not want to pay for the full "Dave" treatment. I offered to diy the buttons while we are waiting for the paint correction appointment in 2 weeks. I've been working on the old lacquer removal one section at at time with Neutrogena wipes and a plastic razor blade. It has been slow but the results have been rewarding.

Before you ask - yes, some of the white labeling on the AC vents and the door lock button did come off. The images were riding on top of the tar.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement center dial for the AC? In addition to the bad lacquer, the plastic was also brittle and a tab cracked during removal.

Doing the 'in-dash' switches in the CF dash
Since the switches go in the holes, Ferrari put felt around the switches, I assume for a firmer fit

Apparently it bunches up and I am guessing will be difficult to reinstall properly

Anyone find something that works better than the felt?

Apparently once you push one end in, the other end bunches up

I also have a replacement one that has nothing so need to cushion it
