    Hi all,
    New to this forum.
Just got hold of a 95 GTS - only 15K miles, and pretty well perfect.
The door handles and ashtray / surround have all gone sticky, and are in desperate need of refinishing - happy with the way forward on this.
However, almost all the other parts are intact, with only the slightest hint of tack. My question is, has anyone successfully stopped / reversed further deterioration of parts where the surface has not yet failed, and if so, How?
    Thanks
    Martin

You can't stop the process. The parts need to be stripped and refinished.

It is like getting older ... If you can stop yourself aging, you should have no problem reversing the "sticky" process.
Maybe freeze the whole car, that cryogenitic thing, or however you spell it.

It is not possible to stop the degradation of the parts. There is nothing that can be applied ahead of time to prevent it from happening. It is just a matter of time.

    Exactly right.

That's a waste of time. Nothing new there. All the OP has to do is send to SNM or if diy search "sticky parts" for any of 50 threads on the subject.

Something to consider , i have noticed the parts can seem less sticky to the touch during cool weather , if you just got it and you are in a cool climate , and have not felt the parts on a good hot day , you may have very sticky parts and dont know it yet .

Send the parts to SNM or do it yourself. As FBB stated their are a lot of diy threads about this. I have seen some in the 348/355 section as well as the 360/430 section. Many different approaches used.
