Any remedy for 'curing' the sticky switches short of replacing them?
Send them to Sticky RX. But depending on which switches they are, you may need a dealer or independent shop to remove them for you. Regardless, it is cheaper than buying new switches which will only get sticky again....
Thanks, Tony Yes, we've done plenty of 458's. Send me an email or give me a call, we'd be happy to help.
haha...u do this for a living and u dont have access to one? seriously if i know how to take things apart i might be more motivated to get the sticky buttons fixed
Well, let's consider a few things here: - We refinish parts for every model of Ferrari since the 348 (and do other makes too) - We are outside of Buffalo, NY. (I own 2 Ferrari's - probably 10% of all the Ferrari's in WNY ) - We are beyond capacity - I'm working 7 days per week and I'm trying to invent day 8 & 9 for a week Sure, it would be nice to have a video on every make and model car but it's just not practical. We do also work with a large network of dealers, independents and techs that do some business on the side so in many cases, we can connect customers with folks that can help (the cost is between the tech / shop and the customer).
There are a few buttons on the 458 that are not hard to get off. Some are definitely worse than others. The WSM only tell you a portion of the actual procedure. I learned from my dealer that Ferrari has an extensive procedure for just taking apart the steering wheel! If your parts are bad, send it to a good dealer or independent and they can get them removed and send them to Dave!
