Gang, My 360's ashtray is peeling and could use a refinish. I removed the unit and was planning to do the refinishing myself. Pretty easy piece to refinish. Also, the cost of sending it out equals the cost of ordering a new ashtray from Ferrari, which makes no sense. But, the cover has those lovely Scuderia Ferrari flags. They are secured through two bolts (see where my finger is pointing). How can I remove it? I don't want to pry it out using a knife or other sharp object which could scratch it? Any ideas how to remove the flag emblem? Thanks. ketel Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I recommend using a "etch primer" prior to painting. The previous owner's attempt at a repaint of the ash tray rubbed off when I was cleaning it with alcohol
Remove the nuts and the flags pop off. The paint or sticky is probably holding them on the lid, a little prying is fine to get them off. We take off 20 a week here in the shop
Thanks but how does one remove the nuts? There does not seem to be anything to unscrew or unbolt. Seems the flags are attached using some adhesive. Thanks. ketel
The nuts come off with a 5.5mm wrench. The flags have threaded studs on the back that fit through the lid holes and nuts screw on to hold in place. Remove nuts, flags pop off. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
