Stiff shifting shaft mondial T

Hello i am searching some help for shifting issues.

all gear works fine, a bit stiff but nothing to complains about, but the gear lever does not move back to center position and is very stiff sideworks.

cables are working fine and well adjusted.

but the shaft seems to be the problem and are tight and difficult to move manual with the cables disconnected.

any help is appreciated

 

The grease can get hard over time and become difficult. You may have to remove and lubricate.
When I removed mine I found that the pivot screw that went through the middle had been rotating and caused the hole in the housing to become oval shaped and larger which caused a similar problem with mine.
Probably wouldn’t hurt to lubricate the cables really well too.
