Hey All, Just thought i would get on and let everyone know i am doing fine, still sore, but each day doing better. ( For those of you that don't know, i under went Open Heart Surgery to get my Mitral Valve Repaired, this happened Jan. 17th ) Ran into Skip at the Doctor's a couple weeks ago. I have to go for a stress test in a couple weeks and then i will be able to start cardiac therapy. Frank, got your message, been meaning to call you, just been doing a lot of resting and the days just fly by.... Got off the Vicoden a couple weeks ago, that stuff can really mess up your system, i would rather just suffer with the pain... The morphine in the hospital after my surgery was even worse.... If i am up for it, i may stop by and see everyone at the Kart event, no, can't participate, i know my cardiologist would have a baby on that one..... Well, thanks for every ones email's, cards, phone calls and thoughts. I am doing much better each day... Time to rest now, Tod PS: We won't talk about the story with my 328, it may put me back in the hospital..... HAH Oh, has anyone done the tour of the Ferrari factory in Italy? My sister is getting married in July in Tuscany, i just may have to check out the Ferrari facory while there then.. I here i just have to call the dealer? Continental knows me very well....
Tod- It's great to hear from you again, and it was good to see you at the hospital. You'll heal quickly; do you have a physical therapist and nurse coming to check up on you at home? Thank God you didn't have the side effect from surgery that I have; I'm told that I'll always be blind in my left eye. You better make it to the Kart event; I'm planning on being there. Taking pix no less(that ought to be interesting ) Anyhow, it was great seeing you at Loyola; have you put on some weight since then? Skip
Great to have you back amongst the living. I "enjoyed" Vicoden briefly as well for some dental surgery I had recently. Seems to be that time of year before the doctors get time to play golf again... I have been to the factory and can tell you all about. As a matter of fact, we did a "reenactment" of the Mille Miglia through Tuscany in our rental car, so I could give you a lot more pointers as well. The factory tour is interesting, but there are other cool things to do as well, which might be even more fun. To get a factory tour lined up, speak to Continental. Alternatively you could go directly through FNA (as I did). Either way you need to offer Ferrari SpA a few alternate dates for the tour. They will pick one and let you know which day. There is only one tour per day, starting at 11:30am and lasts for one hour exact. Grab me at go kart and we'll talk.
Make that one up yourself??? Tod - glad you are back and OK... that is no small procedure you had! Are you competing with your 328 for who has the highest "repair bills"?? LOL!
Great to know you're up and around again Tod... looking forward to the coming season and getting to see ya again! Chelle
Hey Tod, Glad to hear your doing better. There is nothin like drivin an fcar to get your heart working......... Italian exercise. See if your doc will write you a script. Good luck
Hey,Tod. Glad to hear that you are getting better. (Yes,due to my Severe Arthritis,Pain, and assorted Steel implants,am forced to Live on that Pain Medication Crap... ) One of my (Non-Ferrari) Buds,51 Years old, also just had Open Heart Surgery...a Quadruple ByPass. He said that the worst part of the Healing is in the front, where they had to saw through the Ribs and Breastbone....That hurts just thinking about it,and I was run over by a Bus on a Motorcycle once! That was all it took-3 guys that I know, all getting Open Heart Operations- to get me big old arse on an EXTREMELY STRICT,(1000 calories a day + Vitamins) DIET and EVERY DAY in the GYM for a couple of hours. I figured that all of you guys are thinner, and in better shape than I am. So being 60+ Lbs.Over Weight,it was just a matter of time.... Then, hopefully,I can avert any Serious health problems, and get off-even just reduce-the pain Meds. (I'd like to be able to get off of that stuff completely. The stuff that I take is about 5 times the strength of Vicodin....And,that is just so that I can move around. BUT....I will Not take any of that stuff when I am driving. So,I can get pretty sore after a Drive....But,the Thrill of the Drive overpowers the Hurtin'... I am getting a Big,Jacquzzi for the Next House... Hope to see you and the 328 out and about once the Weather gets better...(and you,and Skip get better too!.... )
