I'm almost there. Have the alternator completely freed up...not connected to anything. Just need to make sure about how to get it out now. I have the coolant pipe rotated out of the way. Heat shield removed. Wiring disconnected from the starter. But there doesn't appear to be enough room to get the alternator through the opening between the gas tank, A/C compressor, alternator mounting bracket, and exhaust. My guess is that I'll need to remove the alt. mounting bracket from the block. Before doing that, I want to be sure that doing so will not somehow damage the studs protruding from the block, or render them useless. Or, if there is some other way to get the alt. out, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks, Brian
