Alonso on Vettel: "I know he is a two time world champion, but he is still slightly below the level of Lewis."

    I'm going with Alonso.

And Vettel at the level of Fangio? LOL.

Vettel is very competent, it is not yet apparent where he sits in the "hall of fame" because he has not been seriously tested. He has had ,for the last two years, by far the best car on the grid. Mark has either lost the plot, or, motivation, from where he was three years ago, so he is not giving the level of competition to Seb as he might otherwise be expected to give.
I recall watching Lewis race the year before he came into F1. He had spun off when up the front end and was obviously annoyed with himself. He then drove through the field "like a dose of salts" He was absolutely magic slicing through the field, without hassling anyone, and won the race. Next year he joined McLaren in F1 and was a revelation, only to drop the baton since.
Jenson on the other hand survived in F1, in the lower ranked teams, for many years without being able to show his real competence with a top rank car. Last year he showed, (with a below par car), just how effective he is as a driver. Canada was a race and a half, if you had the time to watch it! and hopefully this year Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari will have cars of equal capability so we can make a judgement on who really rates as the best overall driver.
The problem is, is, that Adrian Newey is being a pain in the backside by designing such a good car. He's English and so am I but I really do want to see some infighting this year so that the other teams get a look in. Hope springs eternal!!!!
