What kind of metal are the exhaust tips made of on a 360? Mine aren't looking all that great, and my efforts using either Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish or a chrome polish didn't help all that much. Any suggestions?

Stainless steel. With enough elbow grease, they will polish out.

I agree that the tips do not look that nice. I have the challange exhaust and standard tips. I was considering replacing them with chrome tips. After looking into this, it appears to be a much bigger job than I thought. I will try the elbow grease and stainless steel polsh approach, but I am not hopeful they will look much better. If anyone else comes up with another solution let us know.

is the next thing I'll try...one of the suggested uses is on polished stainless steel. I'll give it a try and report back.

try blue magic. I use that on almost everything and have had good luck with it.

I just purchased a metal cleaner called MX-7, the auto detailer said it would work great on stainless steel. I tried it and they look new. I think you will be please with it. Plan on using a lot of rags to get the black crap off.

I had really bad tarnishing on my 360 muffler box and the tailpipe tips .....I tried everything from polish to blue away ...all to no avail....

Someone mentioned using very fine grade wet and dry sandpaper followed up with a good quality metal polish .....

Box and tips look like new ...........

My biggest tip is to use the finest grade of paper you can find.

A little 1600 wet and dry emery paper will bring them up a treat. :)
Do the inside lip as well it really looks cool. :)

Using wetsand paper will quickly cut through the stubborn tarnish that will collect on polished stainless. However I wouldn't recomend anything more abrasive than 2000 grit or you will be trying to polish out the scratches you will create for a long time. Mothers polish has worked the best for me.
