from CECA (colorado exotic car assoc): ALERT ! ! ! ALL COUNCIL CLUBS & CLUB MEMBERS. ALERT ! ! ! * * * STOLEN CAR * * * All Clubs please put this notice in your club newsletters, do a special e-m notice, ASAP! It's time to help out someone as you would want to be helped yourself. Sometime between March 14-20 Michael Barden, a member of Mile High Cobra Club had his Superperformance Cobra stolen. It is red with white stripes and a black roll-bar and side pipes. Keep your eyes and ears open, ask every car type you know if they have seen this car. If you get news of it, or see one matching this description please contact Michael at 303.875.8863 and let him know what you have seen. If it is in the Englewood area you can call the Englewood Police. Be a good witness, stay calm, observant and objective. If all is stationary, dig out paper and pen, make notes on all things of note, addresses, time and place. Number of and descriptons of people, etc. If you happen to see it on the move it is not a good idea to crowd or follow close and don't stare at them - people in stolen vehicles tend to look around a lot, can get pretty nervous, and take off at full power. You will not be helping things to create a high speed on road situation. People can get hurt - and you might just initiate a crash that will destroy the vehicle - not likely you will be considered a friend if that happens! If you have a cell phone with you, you might stop out of sight in some inconspicuous spot and call 911or Michael. If on the move, and you can safely hide in traffic, stay way back and call 911, know what city you are in so you can be connected with the appropriate Police Dept. I can tell you from experience that smart thieves like to do circuits that keep crossing city limits - because it causes the 911 people / PD's to keep transferring you to whoever has jurisdiction. If you are seen and seem suspicious - they'll run! Do not want that to happen. I can tell you that most police dept's do not go looking for stolen vehicles! They just wait for joyriders to abandon them, get an abandonded vehicle report from an irritated neighborhood busybody. If it goes to a chop shop it will be parted out in hours. If going to 'an International Dealer' it' may be in a land-sea container and on it's way to LA or New Orleans and the Far East already. So all of us are the people who can best be the eyes and ears of the law. Stay within smart and safe limits. Lets be a community of friends, take action, help out here. It could happen to you someday... Delete | Reply | Reply to All | Forward | Redirect | View Thread | Blacklist | Whitelist | Message Source | Save as | Print
