Stone Guard --- Suggestions?

    The factory-installed stone guards along the bottom sides of my Cali have been failing. I'm replacing them with a 3M product.

    Any suggestions as to whether or not I should have stone guard applied to the side-view mirrors and front bumper? ... or elsewhere ??

    Also, any feedback on 3M's product or other comments/considerations would be helpful.
