Back by popular demand (and some personal threats :)) the infamous 348/355, now "just bring your car", meet is on so set your calendars for 6/29 Saturday. It will be the usual lies, drinks and turkey massacre under the pretense of doing and showing maintenance on our cars. Feel free to add yourself to the list below of attendees. All are welcome, except Maserati's and Lamborghini's - joking, bring those cars too if you have one but don't count on us to even know where the oil filler cap is! At my RHE house, as usual. Bring whatever, food or drink, even a (thawed) turkey to fry if you like. PM me for contact info and address.

    So far we have:
    Peter 355 or 612
Chad 308 or 911 (really dude?)
    FBB 550
    Derek 348 Spider
    Tim 348 Challenge
    Mark 430 Spider
    Goth 355 Spider

    We could get that running!

Great project. Would be cool to mate a gm tranny with paddle shift. Can you imagine if you could mate the gm 10 speed? One of the racers I know can get the 10speed box tuned and fit for road course racing. I have been traveling around with the guy racing that car and it is fast

I flew out to AZ and got it running before it shipped - but, carbs are out of sync, it's leaking oil, radiator is shot, tires are 30+ years old etc. The engine is strong and everything except the dome lights work as far as I can tell so far, though, but it'd be fun to have a group working on it. I'd love to put a manual in, but there's only two that look like they'd work and both are truck units with granny 1st, so not very fitting of the car....The torque tube makes it difficult. Need something with a th400 output flange and similar in length.

I think easier to make custom torque tube or cut and paste. I think corvette A6 tranny could be cheaply done and electronic enough to add paddles.

Watkins Glen is an easy place to love, Carl. I hope you stayed low on the new curbing they put down entering the Bus Stop.

A couple of guys in my group are from Buffalo and come to The Glen regularly. One tracks his 456 and the other his Cayman. They get to the track pretty quickly. It's a 4 1/2 hour drive for me.

Enjoy your stay at Niagara Falls. I hope our paths cross soon.

That is great to hear Vince! Man, I'd LOVE to, won't be this trip, but maybe next year or the year after.

Things are crazy here at the moment, has been for the last 10 years actually lol

But life is good and extremely busy with work and kids etc.

Take care and talk soon mate. :)

Well for projects, I need to do the engine out on my 355 and the belts and bearings on the 612.

The 355 is to ambitious for a Saturday. The 612 could be done in a day but I'll probably be eating turkey and drking beer instead.

UPDATE: Stoogefest-ivities are still in the works. We had a successful FCA picnic where we drafted some more attendees (Pix below). I have to notify, er, warn the neighbors and work out some menu issues but all good to go. I'd like to retrieve the Ketel award from Jonathan, but the Stooge skunkworks has a substitute plan. Might be hard to take that tequila shot from, but we'll see.

As for projects, I have my own personal ones, but you know how it is for the host. Fryin' and BBQing and all. It's not too early to talk pot luck items. I got these so far:
    Turkey (dah) x 4?
Wings (if you guys still like them)
    Salad
Might do French Fries (since we have lots of hot oil) ;)
    Veggie tray and dip
    Chips and salsa

If you want to bring a turkey for the pot, remember it takes about 50 minutes so allow enough time - I'd say get here by 10:30. The first 2 hit the grease at 11. More later...

Oh Dang, will have to miss this one as I'm out of town on biz that weekend. BUT.....

The Ketel Cup is being shipped to Pete in advance so it can re-annointed to the next rightful recipient. Basically, I've had it with the bad juju so it's time someone else has this albatross around their neck for a few years.

    Take lots of pics!!

Can't wait to see the Ketel Award again. Seems like a long lost treasure coming home. It's shaping up to be the usual Stoogefest. we're just doing some spiffing up around here and test firing the fryers. Got a new flag too. Might try a couple of chickens this year. Still tinkering with menu items. What the heck else can we fry in 6 gallons of 400 degree oil?!
