storing carb 308

There are a few threads on this lately so please do a search and see what others are doing. As to storing , I don't usually worry about it. I live accross the boarder in NY and usually take mine out as long as the salt is dry and off the roads. At the most we'll only get maybe a few weeks of undriveable conditions so I don't bother to prep the car. I was just out a few times this week and will most likely continue my drives as we go into 2008. So we only have Jan and Feb to worry about and once we get through that we are into driving season. So drive it as much as you can and enjoy.

 

+ 1 - The roads north of Boston are relatively clean after the melting, followed by rain - I'll be out tomorrow morning for a drive.

Are you just storing the car for the New England winter, or are you going to put it away for a longer period of time?

 

Owned my carb 308 for 20 years and have never done anything other than keeping a full tank and driving it when the roads are washed of salt. At most the car sits three months during a bad winter year; most times 45 days max. I don't see the need to add anything.

Of course my garage is NOT climate controlled so the urge for fuel to "turn" or evaporate is not as likely.

 

I don't drive any of my classic cars in the winter, even on dry, clean days theres still salt dust all over the place. That's just as bad as wet salt, best bet leave it in the garage until late spring, after pot hole repair season.
