I guess I felt the need to try storing my car for the winter in a bubble (brand version carcoon)

I wanted to see my car daily instead of under a cover, so far I am happy with the results, keeps the car dust free and always pumps in fresh air. I recently have placed a heater by the entry fans so it's now pumping hot air into the bubble. Anyone else on the fence with this product it seems to do the job.

Warning you will get interesting looks from friends and family.

I would honestly never think to store my car in a bubble....what if you want to drive it?....the weather here has been amazing and I've been driving mine all winter....looks like a good product though

I think it's a pretty cool idea, much better than a car cover that can scratch the finish if not completely dust free and clean. Have a link to where you purchased it? Now you just need a window from your den to your garage like some have done so you don't have to go out in the garage to view it during winter time. Very cool.

Gilly6993 up till today the weather has been decent and some days possible to drive, but they use plenty of salt on the roads down here so regardless I will wait till spring after a bunch of rain fall to wash away the salt.

With that said it's pretty quick to take it apart, just unzip and lift, but I am going to place hooks in my ceiling to hold the top part in place to make it easier to unzip and re zip.

Mattyrae the brand carcoon seems a bit better than the rest of them??

http://www.carcoon.co.uk/ www.carcoonusa.com/ the UK site shows the permanent model you drive in and drive out, that one looks slick. I purchased mine from the Canada side.

Check ebay they seem to pop up cheaper on ebay.

Cool thanks. We just had a bunch of rain here. Hoping we get more so when my Scud gets here in a couple weeks will drive it like I stole it. The 3-4 months of winter weather really blows, but a great time to get back in shape.

What size are you using for your 16M?

I use an air chamber with dehumidifier. Keeps humidity at 50-55% with nice constant air flow. Rigid structure made from carbon poles so easy to exit in a matter of seconds.

I am using the 16'7" x 6'6" gives me extra room front & back and just barely touches the side mirrors when blown up. Takes about 5 minutes to fill with air once plugged in.

Russell996 that chamber looks slick. I agree the permanent ones probably easier to use.

Russell996. That's a pretty sweet setup. Love the emblem on the swinging door.

I used a carcoon for my RUF for a while, but had a few problems. The first was that it was easy to scratch the car with the zipper while pulling it over and the cover got dusty and dirty when piled up on the floor when the car was out. Lastly I ruined the carcoon while backing into position when the exhaust pipe melted the plastic. Good for dead winter storage, not so good for the rest of year when you're using car more often.

    Thanks guys.

Emblem is an eBay purchase. Independent F car dealer had it made for their reception area. Carved from wood and hand painted. Not perfect but great on the garage door.

If not for anything else, a carcoon is great for keeping rodents from damaging your car during storage.
