Is this the same car?...
So are there any stories with the blue/tan leather car on ebay? My father is looking at it and we are both wondering why it hasn't sold.... THX
No one has answered, but it looks like it could be the same car, since I would not think a TDF with Tan leather and alcantra combo with no stereo or fire extinguisher would be a very common combo (not that the lack of stripe/Hi-fi or fire extinguisher is uncommon on these cars, but given both are the same color and trim combo, it seems at least plausible). If that is the same car, it would seem to qualify for "story" status given what some others here have said, but it might be a different car. It's possible a carfax would come back clean on this car since the wreck was in a parking lot. It also has the same black calipers and about 300 miles more than it showed in 12/07 when it was listed here before the accident. All this seems to add up to being the same car to me.
Thanks for the info. I was guessing the same as well. Does anyone know of a Silver/full black leather (incl. dash) Arizona car that was recently for sale? It has around 9,xxx miles on the clock, also has upgraded exhuast... Wondering if there are any stories to go along with that car. Trying to get VIN, but thats all the info I have right now. Thanks for any info, Jack
Watt, as the apparent guru (and forgive me if I assume incorrectly that you are) on the CS market, what number do you put on a story CS with 5-8K like this one? What about a no-hit car, but with a lot of miles (I would use the TDF one with the roll cage as an example, but it was repainted so that one's hard to use in this scenario). I am just interested to see what type of hit these cars (CS, not 360 in general) take from actually driving them or having some minor incident.
That car is still available, IIRC. Check 6speedonline. It is a no stories car from a reputable seller.
complex equation of market and individual value criteria. indisputably, right cars are easiest to re-sell and draw big money -- low mile well above 200 -- do a search for my previous comments i prefer right high mile cars for the same money as repaired mid milers. in this case, listen to the nature of the repair done, the quoted work not done for potentially good reason and reach your own conclusion. for some there may be more value in this car than a hi miler all the key facts are available to reach a sound valuation for those who listen and look. the current seller [Darwin] is not withholding info. i ask that buyers put some effort in, it makes everything clear as day!!!
Did the blue repaint strad ever sell? I heard I can pick it up for cheap, just don't want to feel cheap doing so :/ I would drive the hell out of it at a low price !
Do you mean the 18K mile one that has the Yellow Roll Bar? I know it was in the mid 160's asking pricea few months back, but I would want to make sure it did not need rotors and pads soon, since it was tracked apparently and due to that and the mileage, if it needed them, that could put you up into the price realm of a much lower mileage car I would think.
The car was in a parking lot accident at 3mph at best, I know this because I own the car and watched it happen right in front of me. The total repairs for the car were 2k including having the front nose resprayed for stone chips, no big deal. Again an accident not reckless driving or miss use of the car.If someone is a real serious buyer just call Darwin @ 417-869-9900 and he will give you all of the details My SD3 reports on the car are perfect with minimal clutch and break ware . I had a complete service done and new rear tires put on the car.
" break ware" a new concept. 15% rotor "wear" is worth noting, however in 7800 miles.... might be that FoSF demo history.... LC => new clutch...
Why did the front end need to be resprayed for stone chips? I seem to recall it having the stone guard on it in your Ferrariads listing. I am not slamming the car BTW, it's one I would love to own.
Yes that car! Tons of people said to do it and wouldn't steer me in the wrong direction, Watt said it wasn't a decent buy to drive hard, I would imagine it would hold value at that price range too. I could have picked it up in the 150's a friend told me, who has a Stradale as well! The calersmic rotors are the only option for this car? Ok my gt2 I'm running steel 3 piece cup car rotors, amazing stopping/braking power and doesn't cost nearly as much as ceramics, I like the brake pedal modulation better then the ceramics too, curious on the options?
Matthew, There was a small stone chip on the lower left side about the size of an eraser head and when the car went up to Darwin to be fixed and being prepared to be sold he had the nose fixed, his guys up there in MO. are true artist that take pride in there work and would not do a ****ty job. I have always had my cars perfect, it was one of those things that just bothered me. I did have the 3M on the nose and it still got the stone chip, I don't know how it happened but it did . I am sure if you go up there and check the car out you will not be dissapointed . Patrick
Thanks for the info. Just to clarify: Do you still own the car? (you mentioned you did in a response yesterday, but maybe you meant "owned" instead of "own". Did you happen to take pics of the damage from the accident? I would think it would have been a no-brainer to help a possible buyer feel the repairs were as minimal as you mentioned.
I am not an expert, so take that for what it's worth, but it seems to me you would not want to replace the ceramics with steel rotors even if they are made for CS. That would be like taking the rear wing off the F40 because it blocked your vision, don't you think? I think 150's for this car would be a great price if all else checked out, but you would have to consider it would have a smaller pool of buyers than most CS's because of the roll bar/track history/mileage and respray when you went to sell. I think I would still be a buyer at $150 if the brake and clutch wear on an SD3 looked good, the services were up to date and a PPI passed. There's no denying what a beautiful color it is, and how much more reasonably priced it is than many others on the market. It's still a CS, no matter how many miles you put on her!
Oh man, I just re-read my past post's and cannot believe how terribly written they are LOL, my iphone skills are lacking. Anyway, I think it will be a great buy considering I will be driving it on the track and so on, I feel comfortable that it's been driven and that I am not taking a baby of a car and beating the death out of it, this is of course if EVERYTHING checks out like you mentioned. If the brake and clutch wear are good, it's a damn good deal, as far as the brakes as I mentioned tons and tons of guy's who have GT3's , GT2's and etc. switch up to steel cup rotors and several different setups that can be even BETTER then ceramics. I told you my impressions, I had and still have my perfectly fine ceramics in boxes, I like the steel better. I would love to know who to contact about this car and if it is still available!
Sorry, I did not mean to imply I was a real buyer. I am just trying to help any other prospective buyers learn more about the car. I wish I were in the market, but it's too rich for my blood at 200K.
My CS was involved in an incident pictured below. I was able to remedy all issues with a little Griot's Garage Speed Shine. Does this make my car a "Story Stradale" ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have seen that car personally but not recently. I believe it had some paint work done due to the dealer screwing up the clear bra on it and it has been tracked at least once. I have heard of the mods it has had done and some potential issues with them so I would insist it be returned to stock before buying.
I was told there were problems with a CEL coming on but my information is second hand and I cannot verify its accuracy.
Fred's Titanium CS is a story car..... he turned it into a Pu55y. Always surrounded by velvet, has leopard skin alcantara. I'm pretty sure he's gay and thinks it's a Miata.
