My Strad Exhaust have developed a very annoying rattle on the left pipe. Ive narrowed it down to the bypass valve and if I hold the movement mechanism I can stop the rattle. I cant however see any way of removing this part and working out what inside is causing the noise. Anyone else had this issue and is it possible to fix or do I need to buy a new left pipe ?
I've no direct experience but I know I've read of same here in 360/430 or else the Tech Q&A so a search for rattle + valve will probably yield results. That said I'd imagine it should be more than possible to remove the tailpipe, bring it to a shop and have it cut open and replaced. Replacements are probably available from some of the aftermarket manufacturers.
Scott - Not sure if this is the source of your exhaust noise, but some Challenge Stradale, including mine, broke an exhaust hanger on the left side. Mine sounded horrifying (like some major mechanical failure) until I realized that just touching the toe of my shoe to the exhaust tip stopped the noise. My dealership was able to craft a replacement hanger.
