See photos. I've ripped 2 sets of the OE Stradale Mats and am looking for fix suggestions. 2 star bolts (4 in total) hold the mat in place at the bottom and do not solidly anchor the mat. A thin washer is formed molded in the mat but does little to help. I am aware of all of the carpeting options and would really like to find a fix for the OE mats. I've purchased another new set and am looking to modify those. Thanks for any ideas.

i would either look into installing brass or stainless steel grommets on there or perhaps some plastic ones. Check www.mcmaster.com and search; you should be able to find plenty. Perhaps even a screw together sleeve of some kind.

On my black car cover for the 360, it originally came with these ugly white grommets (where you attach a security cable near the bottom). I bought some black plastic snap together ones that look much better.

I think if you use some metal grommets and pinch the rubber between each side of the grommet, it should help solve your tear out problems.

If you want them black, you can purchase aluminum grommets and then use a gun smith product called "aluminum black" that will sort of dye them black.

    Anyway, hope that helps.

As Ray suggest i see only solution to use some alu/metal support plates or big rings mounted on each corner. They should be big enough to cover the corner and they should have hole in midle to copy the hole in mat to put on holding bolt. I think you could just stick them from bottom by some quality glue or some kind of silicone for metal/rubber. In such case they will be unvisible.

I have the same exact problem. I'm trying these #10 countersunk washers. They are big enough to fit over the rubber circular ridge and grip the mat solidly. They may need a longer M4 screw and flat washer to fill the center hole.

Great solution and definitely out-of-the-box thinking! I use a thin line of adhesive like what's used for auto rubber weatherstripping. But I like the tape idea better!

The #10 Countersunk washers worked very well.
They did need a little bit of flattening with a hammer to get them to fit with the original screws. This both lowered their height and narrowed the inside diameter of the hole, no retaining washers were needed.
