hi, If was looking at http://www.nansens.dk when I saw the picture bellow. As I can see it is a 348 but I never saw that front bumper and those mirrors before. Can someone give me some information about this? Image Unavailable, Please Login
AArrrggghh! What a horrendous monstrosity! Please delete the picture from your post before I puke over my keyboard!!
private teams will often experiment with such designs looking for any type of advantage, such as those side ducts for additional cooling of the brakes (sure looks like old1/4 vents from an old 65-66 mustang fastback) while perhaps that blunt nose is for Lemans or other high speed venue.perhaps theres a little ground effects action going on behind there as well?
No offense, but WHY would you want to know anything more about that thing? My first reaction is an urge to run in the other direction and never, ever think of it again.
I've heard that "side ducts for additional cooling of the brakes" explanation a number of times for the Ford Mustang. It's an attempt to justify the "false" duct. But if you look closely, the "duct" doesn't go anywhere. It's closed. So...in the case of the Ford Mustang, it's all about "form", not much about "function." Many carmakers have copied the side strake/intake duct of the Ferrari. But in the case of the Ferrari, they serve a distinct (and vital) purpose of aspirating the engine. They look a little silly on a front engine car!
It's ugly - but it's a race/track car, so function takes a greater priority than form - anybody know what actual improvements in time/results have been gained from it's use?
That is nasty. What's up with the single wiper? and the wing? Is that how they "rice" an italian car?
ok so the front bumper and the black intakes on the bumper aren't particularly pretty, but the rest of the car seems ok. probably looks like a 355 from the side. john
