Hi Everyone, I have a 2007 599GTB. I was out today for a spirited drive and got the car nice and hot. As I got near home, the air conditioner suddenly started to whine. At the time, I wasn't sure what it was, but when I got home, I was able to change the sound of the whine by turning the AC off and on. When it was off...it was more of a grind. When the AC was on, it was a whine. It goes up and down either way with RPM. I looked around and the belts were moving fine...or seemed to be. I went in for lunch for about 30 minutes and the car cooled down a bit. I came out, started it up, and it made the whine/grind when on/off. I decided to take a short drive anyway. And it stopped as I pulled out of the driveway. I drove around for 10 minutes and it never made the noise again. I've owned old Ferrari's and I learned that they would do quirky things from time to time. What do you think it is? The compressor? A belt? Should I ignore it and let it fail completely? Thanks for your input! G
Morphus Joint....Definetly the Morphus Joint......LOL! These cars do strange things. Every 4th time I start my 599 I hear a squeak. Can't find it, no idea what it is. not sure if I should be worried or not...... Drive it like you stole it. That's my $0.02! Jim
