Hi this evening I heard a very strange noise coming from the cooling air fan of my GT4. I think the fans don't work well as if the fan was in contact with something (the grill ?). Is it a already known problem for someone ? Is it necessary to change the fan (with the motor ?) or is it possible to put again the fan in the right axle maybe ? How is it possible to know if my air fans (both are doing the same or so) are close to death ? Many thanks Olivier
You can turn both fans on by removing the wires from the thermal switch (should be near the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side) and touching the two wires together (with the ignition key on of course). Maybe try having someone hold the wires together while you look to see if one of the fans is rubbing somewhere.
Many years ago I hit a cat (he or she survived) but the cooling fan developed a "strange noise". The grill needed some re-adjustment. It is easy to remove it.
Thanks for the advice The fans look old and tired. I think I will have to change them. The fan while turning was touching the front grill so much noise ! Any idea for a non-Ferrari reference that would fit ? Olivier
