    Use the Bosch alternator for the 308 (or perhaps another that I'm researching for a winter project). Bought a used 308 Alt on ebay for $47 shipped from Peter Sweeney and it checks out 100%. Gotta get my Euro Dino on a lift to confirm that the size of the spanned arms fit the mounting bracket. If you have a USA car then you need to buy the Euro alternator bracket from dinoparts.de

    I fab'ed a heat shield with a sloping hat on it so that when oil drips on it, then it just runs down the back side and never gets to the alt. (Oil drips usually come from the timing chan tensioner, valve cover gasket or a loose filler cap)

    Also found hi-temp wire sleeve at NAPA ($40) to protect the alternator wire to fuse box.
