    Good evening all,
Was wondering what you folks think of this. Was in my '85 308 QV, heading home after a drive. Everything was fine, gauges were normal. As I'm waiting for the light to change, a young woman pulls up next to me. She gets my attention and says " your car is leaking a lot of fluids ". I almost had a heart attack.
I pulled over and looked underneath. Nothing unusual. Checked the oil and coolant levels, both normal. Cautiously drove home, about 2 miles.
Once in the garage, I checked everything again. All normal. For the next several hours, I would periodically look under the car just to be sure.
Went for a drive today, and again nothing unusual.
Was she just messing with me? Any ideas or comments are welcomed

    Jim

    A/C condensate drain?

Wouldn't be "a lot" of fluid, but she might have seen it dripping if you had the A/C on.

My uncle actually made me go run and tell one of my older cousins that there was a big puddle under his new 911 targa at a family party when I was maybe 10 or 11. There really was but it was his drink.....God rest his soul. She was probably messing around with you. Thanks for making me think of that.

    Alden,
Thanks for your reply. The A/C was not on.
Sometimes I will get a few drops of coolant from the expansion tank after a drive. But that small amount would not be noticeable when I'm on the road.
I'm thinking maybe she did not like the fact that I was driving a vehicle that is not environmentally friendly. And she wanted to get me off the road.

    Davide,
You may be right. She might have had a good laugh at my expense.

Likely she was being nasty and jealous, hopefully she got pulled by the cops on her way home, and gets a DUI

I can imagine, some people huh?

I remember once, for a very different reason, on my way to a meeting, and I go nowhere slowly. Cops picked me up, and pulled me over. It's teeming with rain, I'm in a fast sporty car, wearing a suit.

Copper says 'don't worry, only stopped you because there's something hanging under the bottom of the car, you better check'

I thank him and get out, trying to look under the car without getting on the ground in my suit, but he tells me it's right under, and I'd have to get down to see it.

I end up lying on the ground, getting my suit soaked, and I can't see anything

'Must've been your foot through the floor on the accelerator!' He said with some glee!

I had to laugh, no ticket, just a dry cleaning bill, and I opened my eyes a bit wider every time I drove through that part of town ever since!

It might have been water from the exhaust?

    My thoughts too.
Fuel is another possibility. Where is your filler? Cap tight?

It could have been dropping from a vehicle in front of you and she thought it came from yours.

Without asking for further information and no inspection of the crime scene I would guess this based on the fact "You stated that she was young and that you were at a stop light"

There was an accumulation of water from previous cars A/C condensation under vehicle.

As She approached She noticed the beautiful vintage Ferrari and while checking out the Alpha male driver her vision had been drawn to the reflection given under the car by the surface of water, She then felt it was an opportunity to make contact with the dominant male. Knowing little of automobile mechanicals She assessed that the liquid must be caused by the sweating masculinity of the Dominant presence you were exuding!

Hence the leaking from your vehicle comment. No need to check the car.

One time, a bunch of high school kids packed in a Camry was next to me on a red light. A brunette stuck her head out the window and yell, "I want your balls!". Hence, my response. Thank God she's not my daughter! :D

No, she was being truthful. By the time you got home and checked, all the fluids had emptied out so there was none left to leak...hence you finding everything bone dry :D

By any chance did you forget the letter "d" from the end of that first word I quoted?

    Hello all,
Thanks for all the interesting and funny thoughts and comments. All very plausible. I guess we will never know.
Maybe she was trying to flirt with me. I AM a handsome, manly, stud .... and modest too!

Errrr, not sure giving you the fright of your life was the way to go, it's like creeeping up behind a girl on Halloween dressed as Freddie Kruger, grabbing heir by the neck and shouting 'BOO', probably have a coronary in your hands rather than a happy date

Last week my wife was driving her Range Rover and I was in passenger seat.
Worker-guy in his pickup driving in lane next to us (surface road doing about 30) waves and gets my attention and with a very concerned look on his face kept pointing to the right front tire area.
RR was driving perfectly but we pulled over and I looked around it for a good 5-10 min...absolutely nothing...and nothing since...
I'm guessing it is a game he plays screwing with "1%ers" to bring a little aggravation into their day.
