Today I inserted some Green LED into the instrument cluster of the F355.

They worked well, but when I tried to turn the dimmer switch to full I got quite a surprise.
As the lights turned full bright there was a strange buzzing noise emitted from the trunk area of the vehicle..??!

The brighter the dimmer switch was turned up, the louder the buzzing noise.?!?!

Its not coming from the rheostat on the back of the speedometer.. Its actually coming from the trunk area.. near the drivers trunk latch and also further forwards to the bumpero_O

PS the dimmer switch does work but doesnt grade smoothly from dim to bright ( with the OEM bulbs) It so=rt of get there by flickering a lot indicating a loose contact somewher.. not sure if thats relevant..

Anyone know what this is caused by or had similar experience..?

    So did some more digging..

That noise was coming from the intermettent wiper ECU ( Near the RH trunk latch , behind a gold 90 degree bracket) At first I thought it was gone, but I noticed the wipers werent working.. Replaced the fuse and Viola,,

Apparently it makes this protesting noise when the fuse is blown and it gets louder when the dimmer switch is turned up full.

Anyways noise is now gone.. Dimmer switch works well..and so do the LED's in the cluster.

Well at least now its documented in the Fchat archives in case someone else has the same issue..
