Hello, Can anyone, please, tell me if ever experienced this... I'm currently driving a 2003 QP, it is a special QP, pre-series, and it was made for Jean Todt. Today something strange happened. While parking and in reverse while turning the steering wheel a huge, single, noise came from bellow. Something in the region of one of the front suspensions or even the steering bar. It is like something just broke. Anyway the strange thing is that I don't feel nothing strange on the steering wheel not a "bump" when the noise happen, nothing! While driving it is perfect, turning or not... Happened, also, first gear engaged getting out of the parking, while turning... If I turn slowly the noise is much lower but present, sometimes!! Confused? Me too... Any help out there?
I'm having the same problem with my '07 QP Executive GT. The inner rear well piece is hitting the tire.
I will look for it... Even if it seems that it is on the front section, indeed it can be from the rear... Many thanks, Mont
I just changed the tyres for new Pirellis... The noise is not so present but, if I break hard while turning or not, driving fast or slow the noise happens again. I can not see nothing making contact with the wheels... but when I break hard it seems that the front shocks, some plastic base or so makes the huge single noise... I'm confused...
You should have the steering ranck and balljoints checked out. There was a recall on the steering rack bolts a couple years ago. Since your car is a pre-production, I imagine you have not recieved any recal letters. Also, have all the ball joints checked for abnormal/premature wear. One other thing to look at is the brake dust shield. Sometimes they have been known to loosen or bend out of shape and create some random clearance issues. Lastly, wheel bearings. A good shopshould be able todetermine the issue rather quickly. Best regards Erik
Hello, Thanks for the tips. I'll look for those things. This car belonged to Maserati, while in Mr.Todt hands and the first services were done by Campana in Modena. Strange if they missed those recalls... Regards, Mont
