I have had better luck with GM automatic transmissions than Ford, not as good as Mopar.

They do. I had to replace my rear defroster switch on my 308. The switch itself had not gone bad but the amber lights lens on it had been cracked so I ordered a new one. When it came in the first thing I noticed was FORD stamped on the bottom of it. I thought it was a mistake took the other one out sure enough Ford was stamped on it too.

Now all you need is the part number, eliminate the middle man and save a hundred dollars or so

Sure, why not. There are far less interesting people around here with and without Ferrari's.

Umm, actually all F1 engines have rocker arm followers that ride on a tappet instead of directly on the tappet itself. This improves the efficiency of mechanism (reduction of side loading on the tappet causing higher friction in the valvetrain). You can see the rocker arms in the pic in the following link.

Road going cars generally have small roller elements on the rockers, further reducing the friction as well.

Currently the only valvetrains in use today that I am aware of are through OHV or push-rod. I have seen concepts of solenoid actuated valves, but they are very heavy and cumbersome. Development work is being done on rotary valve applications, but the bearing element in the system is proving to be quite a challenge.
