    It looks like a normal Dino engine...maybe the heads were removed from when it was in Stratos form? I would guess the alternator (still showing),starter and distributor were stripped off and sold. It is very interesting if this one is "factory fresh" that the offset crank pulley has been drilled. I don't want to light that whole thread up again but supposedly all engines were externally balanced from the factory(so why the drill holes). It will be interesting to see where it trades.

    How would the factory balance without drilling holes?
    On two of the pictures you could still see the 40 IDF carbs (Stratos)
    the other picture has already the Dino 40 DCNF Carbs..
    How great is that if you can still buy after more than 35 years a NOS engine, wow...

    246 externally balanced, Ii crank was turned or heavier pistons installed, ie: cheaper then originals then holes or weight woulld have been added. balncing requires a computed bob weight installed on rod throws to accomplish. DO NOT LISTEN TO ANY ONE WHO QUESTIONS EXT vs INT BALANCING
