Just got back from Bahamas and had a great drink at the One & Only Ocean Club. Strawberry Mojito. They charge about $10 each. Had two and our bill was $25+ which includes tax and 15% gratuity.

Here is a pic of ingredients and of the view and here is the recipe.

    1) mull together: 2 lime wedges, 1.5 strawberries (tops cut off), sprig of julienned mint leaves and a shot or two of simple syrup (boil 1 cup water/1.5 cups sugar and cool)

    2) Add fresh squeezed lime or the kind in green bottle. About 3 tablespoons +/-

    3) Add 1.5 shots bacardi white rum

    4) taste and see if too sweet or sour and add either more syrup or lime

    5) Add a ton of ice to glass and stir. Lots of ice is key.

    6) top with a bit of canada dry ginger ale or soda water. Soda water is not sweet/ginger ale is

    7) drink with straw

Love mojitos, never thought about adding strawberries. I guess I'll have to give it a try.

I fell in love with Mojitos this past summer. However I am ready to move to my old fall stand-by of Jack Daniels. Goes GREAT with apple cider and a little cinnamon this time of year....Mmmmmm Apple-Jacks. Gotta make a run to the cider mill this weekend.

Drink sounds great though and will have to keep in mind for next summer (or maybe a early fall Indian Summer) :)

I had way too many mojitos last Saturday night at the Samba Room. 2 pitchers for 4 people is probably too much! :)

I'll try your recipe soon, love the stuff.

I had the best pina colada of my life in July, sitting on my patio in St Maarten with this view...

(and yes, I ONLY drink them on vacation! :p)

Mojitos are good but Caipirinhas are even better. Mojitos from the beach clubs in Miami are the bext in the US.

Of course they are, Miami is the free Cuba. But I prefer the Mojito with Havana Club which used to be the Bacardi family rum factory in Cuba before they migrated to Puerto Rico.
