Tried a search, but came up with nothing.... any way to stream it for cell phone or computer?
    Thanks in advance.

www.strongvpn.com and you can stream the races straight from BBC (the ones they'll cover this year). Best $50 a year I spend.

I know a lot of people prefer to watch the race live, but if you miss one can you stream the BBC coverage later in an on-demand fashion? What about their coverage of practice and qualifying?

I saw post #2 - it does not answer the question in post #3.

There is live streaming and on-demand streaming. I am curious if the BBC offers their F1 coverage both ways.

They show pre-shows, practice and qualifying live, then you can stream on demand later.

Thinking about it, that was last year...of course they're only doing every second race live now.

Thank you! I am surprised there isn't widespread public outrage over not doing every race live. That's a shame.

Oh, there is!..... The Brits are pissed - Every race is indeed live, it's just that most (half?) of 'em are airing live on Sky rather than the BBC in the UK this season.

There's a thread somewhere about Sky's plans for an iPad (etc) app which, if they pull it off, sounds very cool - At least for live viewing, dunno about on demand (?)

Aircon, are all the pre-race shows, FP's etc available on demand from the BBC do you know? I guess via their "iPlayer"? How long is the delay before they're available? TIA,

    Cheers,
    Ian

I never looked for FP actually, so I'm not sure. They certainly had qualy and the race, as well as the pre race and post race forum on iplayer on demand 'faily soon' afterwards...not sure how soon.

This year, I know they have all the replays of the races they're not doing live, again not sure how soon after. It's all a very odd set up.

OK, thanks for the info. [I guess they've got FP too, even if its like Speed here with no commentary, just the world feed (?)]

"Very odd set up" seems like an understatement! - I *guess* whichever broadcaster does each individual race will also stream it live. The other guys will have to wait until they re-air on the TV (Anyone know for sure?) Then there's the question of on-demand availability.

Add to that the possibility of the "Sky app" (see above) and things get really messy - I assume (always dangerous!) it'll only be available to "Sky Sports" subscribers (?) Fortunately, my boys are and I'm kinda hoping I may be able to piggyback off their accounts via strongvpn - If Sky online gets it right it cold be awesome.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    I've just configured strongvpn - My 02c;

    - In the past, I've watched Speed (live) with the F1 timing app running on the iPad - An HD picture on the 55" monitor isn't too bad.
    - I've also watched via the "illegal" streams that often get posted in the "race" thread (and see above ;)) - The BBC feed is good, but quality ranges from "acceptable" to "better keep the window small". Further, IME, they tend to come and go.
    - I time shift a lot of races - It's not hard to get up on Sun AM, get coffee/bloody marys and then skip the ads - No live timing of course.

Now, along comes Sky and their 24x7 F1 channel - I think these guys are really gonna "push the boat out" with their coverage......

Hence, strongvpn - Puts me "in" the UK as far as their servers are concerned and their iPad (etc) app sounds like it could be awesome - See capture below :)

Problem with the Sky thing is you will need to subscribe to Sky. Apart from the expense for that, I'm not sure what they will say if you have to give them a physical address and it's not in the UK.

Has anyone successfully bought the Sky package outside the UK?

Good points - I too would be interested in any answer.

As I said somewhere, I'm hoping to "piggyback" off my boys subscriptions...... I'm pretty sure they're both Sky Sports subscribers already and probably don't much use their "login".

    We'll see ;)

Crap like this makes my nose bleed. I want to give them my money, but as a Colonist, they give me no avenue in which to very slightly enrichen their coffers.

Why not offer me a method in which I can give them my Yankee Dollars in exchange for easy, trouble free and quality viewing of Hamster and Massa beating each other nearly death with their broken suspension wishbones?

Yeah, contracts with the mumblers at Speed probably obviate this...but one can dream.

    $10/mo streaming of race only.
$20/mo streaming of quali and race.
$30/mo Pitpass package. Practice, quali, pre-race, race, and post-race.

iPad app - 1 time purchase of $5 USD that grabs the sub streams and sticks it onto your eyeballs. Netflix deal as a Brit channel for x_$/mo extra.

These folks are leaving money on the table, and making us as fans go out of our way to watch Bernie get visually shorter every year by paying 4th party entities that have nothing to do with F1 collect our money to watch F1.

    Tsk.

+1 I certainly hear you. At the very least what we need is a Speed iPad app.....

As for making us jump thru hoops, I see where they're coming from - Each licensee pays the Pygmy for the rights in their country, and as we know he gets pissed if anyone does anything different - I'm sure this will change once the partnership with Tata gets going - The 'net is worldwide and "controlling" access is gonna be a whole new battlefield - The times they are a changin'.....

    Cheers,
    Ian

    I strongly suspect Sky's engineers are working round the clock on this right now;

Doesn't say *when* in March of course...... Come on Speed, get with the program!

I usually look 10mins before the session start

I used a VPN last year the same one vinuneuro uses.

BBC Player will only work for the 10 races that the BBC are showing live this year. Apparently they will be streaming the race on the BBC website even tho they wont be showing the race live. wait n see I guess

Most of the other links I post in the threads usually come from here http://www.vipbox.tv/sports/formula-1.html

We will work it out tomorrow
