I have an 8mm video camera that you can connect the red, yellow, and white component cables to watch the video on a tv screen as you record. How can I convert the component cables to a usb cable to plug into my computer, then stream the video live on my website as it records? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
Not sure if this exactly fits the bill, but I use an old Dazzle video capture device to hook up my RCA-based devices to my computer. The Dazzle gizmo has RCA inputs and a USB output (to connect to the pc). I know they have much newer devices compared to mine so perhaps they can do some interactions with streaming live vidoe? Dunno, but I'd look at those.
...or that would work too. I say "meh" though to you kids and your new fangled contraptions. New camera?!?!?! What sort of "overly-complicated, impossible to control, PITA solution" do you call that? Sounds far too easy if you ask me. When I was your age and wanted to stream video, I had to do it, in the snow, up hill, both ways...... and it still looked like poo!
