I don't want to be cheap with my car but don't want to pay almost $4,000 for a Tubi either after my last few F-car related bills. The Hooo-hummm stock exhaust sound is just not cuttin it. I have to get the car to 4,000 rpm just to hear it. Which translates to: Way over the speed limit, ALL THE TIME! I can't help it! I am addicted to the howl.
A 348 owner on this forum, has a Strebo and says the Strebo sounds so much better than eveen the Tubi and is fully stainless. Obviously a matter of opinion I know but here is the kicker, $1,320 includes shipping. What do you guys think?

    Am I a cheap bastard?

They may sound fine (good), but here's the rub...while most of it is hidden, what you can see, is not particulary "pretty"...that is, the finish work just is not as nice as what Tubi, and Capristo put out.

Worse, there are simply too many horror stories of late delivery (many months delays) and NO DELIVERY(!), that it is not worth the headache and hassle to deal with Stebro, in my opinion. Stay away from that company!

If you need to save a few bucks, check various sites for a used one, or watch Ebay.

Have you checked the ANSA exhaust? Also Superformance has an exhaust system for a 348, but no pic's on the web sight. If you contact them they may be able to send you some pic's. I think I will get a system from them when the time comes. They list your system for $L550.

    Mike,

I have a Stebro exhaust on my Testarossa. I did not install it, but the previous owner, who also had a 348, spoke very highly of the systems.

Stebro's are not polished like Tubi's are, but what the hey, it's all about the performance and the noise...

The fit, tubes and welds on my system look very good.

I will check the Larni out and thank you all for your imput. Boy, no one likes it huh?. I hate to sound like the cheap ass I am but after the purchase of my car, then the drama and $$$$ I simply cannot afford a Tubi and have NO patience? NOW NOW NOW.. I have heard the Ansa and it sounds the best I think. So much dough though. Almost identical to the Tubi in price.
Strebo say only two weeks for delivery. Paul Hill put that Casprilo (sp) on his 348 and it hangs way down low and looks horrible I think? Would the Strebo do that as well? I do have a guy who could polish it for me. Strebo says theirs is all stainless steel and should get anywhere from 7-12 more hp and has lifetime warrenty?

Shi$, maybe I wait till I can afford the Tubi? I just think of $1,500 as not that much money. $4,000 though you can do alot of things with 4G's.

I think my Stebro looks just fine. The tips are polished and fit the car beautifully. The can itself is half the size of the original double can the car came with. Only the tips are polished but that's all you see anyway.
My delivery was fine. I love the sound of my car. I'm thinking Mike can use the money he saves to add some goodies to his car. Next for me is the wheel spacers (I spin on the track too much) and some upgrades to the interior and perhaps a BMC air filter set. And I still have money left over.

    IMHO

Evan LIVES in Ontario, so he can go right to the manufacturer....way differet situation than yours. While the product may work fine...I would still be very careful with dealing with this vendor. A few people have had no problem...but there seem to be an equal (if not more) number of people who are very dissatisfied with the delivery times and service. Search the archives, if that doesn't convince you, then by all means.....go ahead....it's just like the lottery, I guess.... ;)

    Mike,
I forgot about the Capristo problem....yup, I would focus on the Tubi and Ansa then.....as I said, watch Ebay and other sites....don't get wrapped up in the "gotta have it now" syndrome....that is when you will make a bad decision or get burned....trust me.

I will search for the used Tubi or Ansa but Evan (348 owner with a Strebo, lives right next to their facility. He will go and check out the progress of my shipment when ordered he says. Got love fellow F-catters! Strebo says they already have one made and will immediately ship?

If I cannot find a Ansa or Tubi for the right price I think I will take a chance and get the Strebo?
