Hi guys, I’am looking for a Streering column Plate where goes the three levers (light, indicator, wiper) for my french Dino 246 GT (n° 2680)

Parts Catalog Tavola 29 item 47

I still have the original one but they are quite worn.

I bought new levers from Dinoparts but I was very disappointed, very expensive and different from original.

Maybe those parts where originaly Fiat parts but I don’t know wich model.

If you have any idea to help me to find those parts new or used…

    Thanks Patrick

    Hello Patrick,

I have a set, not with tulip handles (that by the way do not look original to your chassis #), restored by Verell at UNOBTAINIUM.

    They are:

The price is reflected in the last post. Brand new restoration, never installed.
They are really becoming impossible to find, specially originals.

I will repost in "Ferrari Parts for Sale".

Please pm, or email: alberto.guirola at gmail dot com

    Regards, Alberto

The petal style column stalks are correct for #02680 Alberto. The later style that you have available were introduced in late '72.

I agree with you tulip levers were original for early E type like mine (#2680 end 1971)
    Thanks

    Hi Patrick,
I have #02750 and used the Dinoparts stalks to rebuild the original, which should be the same as yours.
A bit of bending, some silver paint, careful fitting and some adjustments and they look very good.
The plastic parts are well made and fitted well into the original housing.
There were some small differences in the plastic moulded parts but these were inconsequential to the fit.
I can post some photos if you want to continue down that route...
    Regards, Andrew

    Hi Andrew
    Thanks for your message
I also succeed to rebuild with original column plate and dinoparts stalks but with quite a lot of work to fit them.
I couldn't fix their light switch so I had to use my old one wich is working badly.
It's why I,am looking for a new streering column plate and stalks set in case I will need in the next years...
If you have some photos should be great
    Best regards
    Patrick

I'll try to find some photos this weekend.
The light switch assembly on the end of the stalk has 2 small screws which hold the contacts and wires, unfortunately the heads on these screws were too big and I ground the edges down until the rotating plastic end fits over correctly. There might be other minor issues I may recall when I find the photos.
Were there other problems you ran into?

You can see the 2 screws (before grinding/fitting) in the last photo with the while switch assembly glued to the end of the stalk.
There is also a spring and ball bearing to capture the rotating plastic handle, bit fiddly to install as you need to slide onto a channel inside the handle and turn at the end.
I used a new plastic snap ring for the handle, also from Dinoparts.
Also looking at this again, I had to epoxy parts of the backing plate which had some cracking and gives some more strength where the stalks mount.
    Copper greased the contacts.
    Hope this helps.
    Andrew
