Every year for at least the last 15, including 2005, there has been a swap meet/show in Chicago for 1/43rd scale modelers and builders. Long time ago, it was tied into the Ferrari memoribilia show, but has been separate for many years. I have a friend from England whose company manufactures 1/43 kits, and he has not heard anything about the 2006 event. Has always been a great place in the USA to find OOP kits and built models. I have about 100 I want to sell.
I used to look forward to the Strictly 43rd stuff at the Ferrari Expo each year, but I've lost touch with them since they split off eight or ten years ago. I have a mailing address for one of the Strictly 43rd club members that I can email you if you PM me.
It's supposed to be on the same day as the Ferrari Literature meet at Continental in Hinsdale.Last year it was about 20 min away . I forgot the location however . Maybe the guys at Continental Motors may have a location for this year's event. I liked it better when it was part of the Ferrari event.Been attending that one since when it was at the Como Inn in Chicago .Now that really dates me !
Don't know if its still there, but a couple years ago it was held at the Teamster's Union Hall on Joliet road in Countryside. Same day as the literature show, and only 10 minutes away.
Thanks, I appreciate the offer. I wanted to attend as I have about 100 1/43red scale kits I want to sell, thought I would make a contact at the show. Also, a good friend from England usually goes.
