I thought it was three times, not four?

Be warned, fighting for a lemon is not easy. I had some help, and got bmw to buy back an m5 at the height of the m5 market in 3 weeks, but it took a lot of clout and campaigning.

Uh oh! I have an '06 E350 Wagon. Let's see, we've had it for about 4 months as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I've already lemon lawed my '02 G500. I guess if something happens to the E 350, I'll know exactly who to call.

    Good Luck.

Edit: If you talk to MB, you're better off citing the "Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act" rather than the term lemon law. They'll know you've done some research. A friend of mine, who's a GM for MB, gave me this little bit of advice.

The number of times a car goes in for the same service isn't as important as how many total days you're without the car. If it's a dangerous problem it may only take a few times. If it's a radio it could take a lot more. I was having big problems with the transfer case in my G500. The car would lock up in 2nd gear and you would be unable to shift to any other gear. MB considered this a dangerous situation and didn't even argue with me about it. MB had also had my car in the shop 6 weeks of my 11 months of ownership. I was refunded almost all my money, there was a usage fee which is calculated on mileage the car had on it when it was brought in for the problem the first time. I think I got back all my money except for about $1,100. I guess that was the fee for driving the car for 9.5 months?

You need to have the same problem 3 times, which makes it the fourth visit back to the dealer. I think that is a Lemon.

My wife actually said the car rpm's jumped to 3k while at a light.
    she said it happened twice.
I took it in for that too, told them the date and time, they said the car's computer did not show anything!

This car is getting on my nerves!

I KNEW I should have leased it instead of buying it!

It's much harder when they can't find the problem. It was easy for me. I had lots of warning lights on as well as the car was stuck in the wrong gear.

It's been said before, but Mercedes is a mess.

My wife's SL55 is a rattling, squeaking piece of tin. I won't buy or lease another Mercedes again.

I just dumped my wifes 2000 MB for a 2006 lexus truck before the holidays. I was buring a litre of oil a month from the beginning and never did a thing about it. I dumped my 99s320 in 2001 after i spent 45 minutes on the highway in -5 degree weather in the rain. All the windows and moonroof opened up and rained on me in my suit the entire drive to the dealer. They all thought it was pretty funny, until I pulled a rant on how crappy there flagship s class stood for **** in front of many clients in the showroom and service. I will never go back again to MB.

Sorry to hear of your troubles !! I know exactly how you feel !

I have 2 lexus' now and couldnt be happier. My 2000 GS400 has 110,000km changed the brakes only once all the way around, and not one burnt light bulb :p

With M-benz now a bean counter run company..they are slowly turning into the laughing stock of the car industry. Designs are beautiful..but the quality of the cars is in the lower basement.

I have had a fair number of these Benz's come into the shop for a number of idiotic things being wrong with them. Blubs burning out everyother day, gauges crapping out, headlights going on and off without reason, windows and seats suddenly opening and moving on there own, owners comming back to parked cars with all the windows down aswell as the sunroof. Complete loss of interior comfort features, raido, HVAC system etc.

Wiring harnesses starting to come apart, rust starting to form around trucks latches and sunroof seams. Wheel bolts completely bare of their protective coatings, rattle and squeaks galore, overly assisted power steering systems, etc, etc, etc..my god I could go on for days.

I have always loved the Benz brand because of what it used to stand for..a pretty much garenteed quality product that would last you for years to come. Now they are nothing but piles of crap with the wrong name plate on them.

My little 92 190E 2.6l is stil running strong with barley ever a glitch..and has NEVER left me stuck..even in minus 40 degree weather buried in a snow bank shoulder deep, owner since new, and gets an oil change when ever time permits (which might aswell be almost never..maybe twice a year if its lucky) has over 400,000km on the clock and everything but the alternator, brakes, one waterpump, and one muffler are as they were from the factory..Try that with a new Benz, and I will give you mine!

In my state you can only lemon if the problem is safty related, 3 times in the shop and still not fixed.
Dash lights may be consitered safty related, but it may be an arguement.

Good luck, damn mecedes, I thought they were good cars.

    Sorry to hear that,

My wifes 06 E350 sedan has been rock solid. I took it in for services today and the adviser was a bit surprized when I said no problems...Hmmm

Much better than our 02 S Class...what a disaster, multiple electrical gremlins

I am the pround owner of a '05 C230 Kompressor, and I am happy to report no problems. I did drive thru an opened manhole and found myself a $900 bill for wheels and tires.

Does 62 days of SHOP TIME (not waiting for parts, etc.) in 14 months count? :D

They are one of the lucky ones.
I called a few friends of mine that have E classes, one is last years, one is brand new. Same exact problem as mine.

    Pretty Pathetic in my opinion....

My Jetta TDI was $19k. An '04 with 50k miles already, only problem was the the driver's side automatic up/dn window button stopped functioning.

    That's IT!
