That company even have a shop in Frankfurt airport.Bit different approach from the stiff upper lip Brits LOL. F1 ? why not?
It's dog eat dog in F1 and when you're down on the dumps, the people you beat are not as foregiving.... "In order to keep their performance prize money bonus after a takeover by new owners Force India needs agreement by all other teams. But McLaren, Williams & Renault denied that approval and put the rescue at risk." [Tobi Gruner]
Ruthless. And what happens to the FI share of the performance bonus, is it distributed to the rest of the teams or ?
If Force India folds then yes. Force India at the beginning of the month wanted a loan extension and Williams (not sure if a another team was involved) vetoed no.
Williams, Renault and McLaren are apparently blocking a deal for the new owner to receive the FOM fees based on results at the end of the year. They consider that it would be a NEW team, that shouldn't receive any fees, nor receive the free transport concession offered to establishd teams. In fact, they want to make Force India unsellable and eliminate it from the end of year distribution. Williams itself is fighting for survival, but Renault is the "spoiler" in this I don't not what is McLaren's angle in this. Renault wants to eliminate a Mercedes-client team, since it will have none itself nest year. I don't know what will be Liberty and the FIA's answer to that challenge, but the lawyers will be busy for sure!
What does the British Administration have as authority on this definition of it being the same team versus new team? As long as the new owners acquire the legal entity, versus an asset only sale, then the original entity remains just that the officers have changed. Under British law, can the Administration process enforce this interpretation?
I'm afraid I cannot answer these questions. The reasons invoked by the 3 teams look spurious to me, but I am not an expert on the subject. Change of ownership, or renaming of a team after sale have happened before, so it should be a straightforward matter, but apparently ir's not so simple. The FIA has to approve apparently, and the FIA can be lobbied ...
Papa stroll and his entourage officially to the rescue (or prolonged demise) of both the Force India outfit and his son's F1 career teeheeheehee: http://www.espn.com/f1/story/_/id/24311800/lawrence-stroll-backed-consortium-rescues-force-india-administration
So to return to the original question. What now for Perez/Ocon? If i was papa Stroll Perez would be on his way to Hass/Williams with his Peso/$$ .Ocon has a much greater future potential. Otherwise should they decide to keep Cheko,Ocon might find himself swapping places with Lance.
They’d probably pick the slower driver of the two so his boy Lance has a shot of looking better than he really is when he arrives in 2019? I think it’s over for Williams either way.
Szafnauer played a key role in helping the administrators find the investors, with Stroll's consortium comprising Canadian entrepreneur Andre Desmarais, Jonathan Dudman of Monaco Sports and Management, fashion business leader John Idol, telecommunications investor John McCaw Jr, financial expert Michael de Picciotto, and Stroll's business partner Silas Chou
Some of these guys are even bigger hitters than Stroll himself. So money will no longer hold the team back.Interesting to see how it all pans out.
Why would the other teams have issues if this becomes Mercedes B team?... Ferrari has a B team Red bull has a B team Right? Robb
Big money brings big ego and big disagreements. The long term is all I care about. Thats too many partners to please. Great plan on paper, the execution will matter and how long will those 'partners' want to pour money down a long and dark endless hole that is F1.
Looks like Hartleys career is saved! As the second worst driver in F1, he’s got to have a guaranteed seat at Force Stroll!
