Took the 328 for a ride, heavy smell of gasoline, check if gas cover on, all OK, park car check for leaks, nothing, replased ALL fuel lines last year, parked in the garage, no leaks at all.
Do not want to start it, i guess is going to get a ride to Universal Autosport to see Dr. Luigi. Should I look for a specific place for leaks before I call for a pick-up?

Check around all of the connections for any weeping of fuel. I had to re-seat and re-clamp one of my lines due to this after replacement. Last fall after completing my timing belt service I noted the smell of gas and it ended up being the check valve on the fuel pump. There was a strong smell of gas with only a small leak noted.

As I believe you have inferred with having the car picked up, don't drive until you locate the leak.

One other thing, are you sure it is coming from your car and not another car in the garage or surrounding gas container?

    Thank you Dan,
The smell of gasoline was very strong as I was driving it.

I had that gas odor also when driving also. When I changed all the fuel/vent lines, there is one that goes from the filler neck to a cross over pipe. I think it is for venting the opposite side tank. It is a clear hose with somewhat thick walls. Mine had a bubble in it and a small hole. I suspect the gas vapor escaped when driving because the gas sloshes around and the vapor leak was up top, in back of the driver's side getting sucked into the car by the air currents. I always had that gas odor when driving and windows down but not standing still. Replaced it and no more gas odor.

Also check the top connection to the fuel filter. Its hard to get to but mine didn't leak fluid, just odor until tightened a little bit.

    Glass,

How did you determine to check that?

Or did you just "start at the top and work all the way down" tightening EVERYTHING?

A mechanic looked at it and told me to replace the braided and very expensive fuel lines. I went home, got under the car and started feeling and smelling around. The smell was right at the filter so I put a wrench on both ends and tried to tighten. The top move a tich and the odor stopped right away.

    Did you just fill up?

If so, you might have an issue with the tank interconnect hoses. I'm not sure if your car is like a 1985 Mondial (not my 3.2 - never had a problem) I used to have, but that was the problem there. Didn't express itself until a full fill up.
