How tight are the A/C hoses to get out? I have just tried pulling mine out but they only move about 6" and then lock solid. Thats with someone pulling and pushing. I haven't even got to the stage where the metal end fitting has to go down the tunnel and don't want to even go that far if its this tight already. The fuel tank is out and the panels are off but something is locking them up.

Search the archives. There are metal clips hidden inside that hold the hoses. You will need to open up a couple of access panels to get at them. Its fully documented here.

    Thanks Jim,
I have removed the two small panels behind the fuel tank and accessed those two clips. Are there any up the front that I can't see or seem to get to? There are no restrictions down the sill.

I just uploaded this picture on another thread so I have it handy. In fact you might search for heater hose replacment threads because I'm sure there is lots of pertinent info in those.

I assume that this access plate exists on the other side of the car as well. Do you have that open? The hoses make a pretty hard bend right there, you're never going to be able to pull past it without access.

Please post your experience. I hope to be replacing my hoses this winter so I will have working AC next summer.

I had mine just done by a specialist shop. They had to open the access hole in the front wheel well, pulled out the front part of the old hoses through this hole, then connected the new hoses via connectors (which they made from old connectors) to the old hoses. Then they could pull from the back in a quite straight line.

    G'day Harry,
I take it your talking an access panel in the wheel well behind the wheel? I don't have any sort of removable panel that I can see. Its all fibreglass from the body panel right around to the steering tunnel and up to the scuttle. I definitely don't have an opening like Brian Harper shows for the vacum hose on the opposite side.

I really didn't think it was there either. It was completely covered over by the undercaoting junk that they spray in there. I was stunned to find it because I had looked for it before and spent many minutes scratching around in there. I'm not near my car for a while, otherwise I would dig around the right side wheel well just to confirm it is there, but I believe it is.

There is a riveted small panel covering an opening to the sill. It is not easy to see, you probably have to clean the area before you can spot it.

Well I will have a look again. I have owned this car for 13 years now and do all work my self and have never seen a removable panel here. Some years back I did some metal and fibreglass work in this area on both sides and definitely no small removable panel. Its all just one large fibreglass section all around. I will get my IPB book out and have a closer look at that too.
