    Hello All,

2002 360 F1 Spider, the key got stuck in the accessories position.

The wheels were turned to the far left to allow access to the front right side marker bulb for replacement, car was running.

While the wheels were facing left an attempt to shut the car off was made, during this sequence the key would not come out of the ignition. We didn't want to risk breaking the key in the ignition so we gave up on trying to remove it.

Does the ignition need to be removed to allow the key to be re-pinned, (not sure of the proper term)?

    Any ideas?

    Appreciate any advice.
    Regards,
    Mike

Not sure if this helps... while turning the steering wheel hard left and holding it can you wiggle the key some? Same while trying to turn right? I think you need to unload any pressure on the wheel lock in order to get the key assembly to move. Can you jack the left wheel up off the ground to get a little extra movement with the steering wheel?

    Is your key worn down?

    Good Luck!

Agree with above, seems like tension in the steering rack and assembly is holding the key in.. jack up the front wheels and then try to get it out...

Yeah, been there. You should be able to release tension on the wheel and get it out. To make it easier, you can lift the front wheels which should remove any pressure on the column, otherwise muscle it.
