Nice car. I'd forgotten about those automatic shoulder harnesses, what a joke those were.

Vik, you're right, this is a stunning 512. Were the automatic shoulder harnesses standard equipment on the 512?

The 512 TR tops my list of *modern* day Ferrari's. It was the last real mid-engined 12 cyl. car..

As much as I like the F512M I don't care for it's wheels and some of the styling ques seemed forced on the car like the round implant tail lights on a very square back end.

The 512TR design is smooth and flowing. The small things like the roof line where the rear deck hinges.. a continuous arc..vs the little divot on the 85-91 TR's.. Also the sculpted front brake ducts and driving lamps. Not to mention those beautiful 18" 5 spoke wheels.

While I find the Maranello flowing and beautiful, and 456M GT reminscent of past models and quite frankly the 612.. well if you cant say anything nice... The 512TR is by far the most impressive.. 78.2" wide.. 428HP and demanding of respect no matter what vehicle you may be in.

I agree! However...it's not just my modern favorite. This is myall time favorite F-car. If money EVER (at this rate, who knows) comes my way, this will be the first car I get! The only thing I don't like.....the sticker the dealer put on the back. Man, I hate that! Shoot the guy who did that!

Ferrari had a recall on the Seat Belt control Units on earlier made TRs.

I took mine in and they updated the control unit to where it works perfectly now.

I'll never forget my first ride in a 512TR.. it was with Paul Carey at the Govenor Morris hotel in Morristown NJ. I went from the front door to the parking lot but it was awesome!

My brother and I had attended the 7th annual garden state fall festival at Jerry Molitor place. I was 17.. By far one of the greatest experiences of my life..

A little over a year later I got a ride with Paul again at Bridgehampton. I also spent most of that morning in a 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi (but thats another story)

I was very impressed with the 512 at speed.. it kept pulling and pulling and pulling.. 135-145-155-160mph. Also it was very composed in the corners.

The funny part was the starter motor had gone and Jerry Molitor, My buddy Audi and I think Bob Coates had to push start the car.. I remember Jerry saying.. 200k for a car and we have to push start the F-ing thing.

A few years later I got a ride in a Sera Blue 512TR at the final bridgehampton event. A very sad demise to a great facility. Spending quality time with cars in the environment for which they were created was awesome.

Since those younger years I have gone on to drive a handful of cars.. 308's 87TR, 348, 355.. 550.

Great cars. But nothing like that of the 512.. IMHO
