I drove them both....and used to own NSX for a few years...now drive 355...

On look alone, I must say 348 is very Italian, but the NSX doesn't look bad. It actually looks lower and lighter. But....darn....I do think 348 looks better.

But if I have to own it and drive the hell out of it....NSX gets my vote (it did, until I fell for 512TR)....

The Noble is a good trackday car and the Lotus esprit is something I've always liked, but having driven a couple of v8's found them very unexciting.

The Boxster.... a little gay and bland I agree...

but would still get one over a 355. :D

........ some issues the 355 suffers from ...... are some bad materials/details (either by misspecification or execution) and of course bad maintenance by some owners ..... all completely rectifiable ................ however one cannot deny the conceptual design of the 355 was spectacular for a production car ...... it spawned a revolutionary engine ........ with a record breaking 108 HP per liter ratio ..................... and after I get done with my latest mods ........ my 355 will approach 120HP per liter ......... close to what the new 458 Italia has with its latest production technology .......... :)

..... there is no question ....... the 355 will reign on as one of the greatest Ferraris ever made ...........

In Italy we say: Do not confuse the s h i t with the chocolate.
    In this case s h i t is Honda
    Chocolate is Ferrari

    Pardon my ignorance but..........

    3.5 x 108bhp = 378bhp

So you are detuning your 355?

I am on my third NSX, and have told friends and family that I intend to keep it until the day I die. It is a daily driver, track car, night out for dinner, back road stormer, and reliable friend, all rolled up into one. That is not to say that I will not have other cars parked next to it, but I will always have my NSX as long as I am breathing and able. Currently over 161,500 miles on my 1994 and running strong. :)

I think I had that many on mine when a motorcyclist totaled me out at Deal's Gap. Had the belt service done in '02 at 50k miles, and never got around to it again... Of course I got hit with the snap ring failure after the previous owner replaced the tranny with another one in the range, and I took his word that the new one was good...

I would love to hear why and how you "detest those cars?"

I have and always will love Ferrari's. My favorite by far to date is the 355. I think they are all of the same caliber but yet so different. I would choose the 355 over both the nsx and 348 but btwn the 348 and the nsx, I am not sure.

If I was ever fortunate enough, I would have all 3 as stable mates.

After owning my nsx for 5 years, I still do not believe I will sell it anytime soon.

VV posted that 30 months ago, so who knows.

My only beef with the NSX is that it looks like a slightly nerdy knockoff of an exotic car. It is an excellent car, but too often the guy driving it thinks he has somehow got the 'Ferrari experience plus the reliability of an Accord'.

The problem is that he hasn't, but often feels compelled to lecture you anyway.

As a top-of-line Honda, it's a brilliant car. Would I take it over a mint 308 GTSi? Well, no.

^ The thing is Jon, the Nissan GTR can be said to be a 911 Turbo knock off. The Miata to be a Lotus Elan knock off. The Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 Black Series to be a 911 GT3 knock off. The Superleggera to be Challenge Stradale knock off. The Ariel Atom to be Caterham knock off. The Renaultsport Clio's to be VW GTi knock off. A Toyota truck to be a Chevy truck knock off. But it does not change the fact that some of the knock offs are damn good machines and got fans for a good reason. If you can learn to take the NSX for what it is rather than what it isn't, you'll apperciate it more. The only big flaw it had was that it wasn't updated every five years or so like Ferrari's V8 models. The other flaw is that now that it's gotten real cheap, a lot of fugly aftermarket styling has found its way to it... Then again I've seen chrome wheels and huge spoiler Ferrari's too!
The best part is probably that you can spend some money (like the cost of one Carrera GT clutch change) and get power on par with 458 Italia but still maintaining reliability better than sub-F430 V8 Ferrari's. Please don't speak about how exotic owners give a s*** about the reliability, I've seen the praise modern Ferrari's get because they now are reliable as modern Porsche's.

This topic just needs to die, nothing to gain in this discussion at all.

Like we say where I'm from: Some like the mother, som like the daughter.
