Talk about the ultimate sport plane! Does this come under the heading of "general aviation"??

Wow. How many powerballs would I have to hit to afford that beauty?

Not exactly sure what the Sukhoi Blue Book is on used 27's, but $4 million and some change (USD) was the last known price tag since the beginning of this year.

Not bad. So maybe just one triple-digit caliber powerball would buy the plane and maybe even pay running costs for 8 or 9 months? I have never had a reason to in the past, but I think I might have to start buying lottery tickets after seeing this! :)

Seriously though, that is one gorgeous airplane. I think even Enzo himself would approve of those lines.

Cost of flying/maintaining that aircraft could easily eclipse the purchase price in 6 months or less. The problem with fighters is that usually any little discepancy will ground the aircraft. Fighters require A LOAD of maintenance to keep them flying.

I've always loved the SU-27 though. I think it kicked the F-15's ass in a straight up dogfight about 4 yrs ago too.

$4.95mm last I checked for each of them (second one isn't complete yet), which were apparently "zeroed out" at the factory (600 hours on the airframe before that). Someone else on this forum the Flanker's hourly cost is like $25k or $40k per hour. Can't remember which. Probably why Ukraine got rid of them, lol.
