I've now owned my TR since 1/27/06, and have had it to drive for the past three days. In that time, I've asked this group at least a dozen questions, all of which have lead me to spend money....... er........ got me good advice.

I notice that for $15.00 US for us little guys, and $55.00 US for all you expensive Ferrari guys, we can help Rob Lay keep this rolling. I've subscribed, and I would ask each and every one of you to do the same. This forum is golden, particularly for us newer Ferrari owners.

And while I'm at it, I want to "out" Brian Crall. Due to my work out deal with my dealer, I used them for my 30K this last several weeks, but Brian has been more than helpful with answers to all of my idiot questions from oil levels, to pressurized gas tanks, to whether or not it is REALLY necessary to drop major bucks on an "engine out Major". I suspect he has no lack of customers in his Burlingame shop based upon his willingness to give of his time and expertise here.

    Thanks Rob and Brian.

Brian is a great resource here, and for folks in the SF bay area, as well as a stand-up guy. His shop is in San Ramon, though, and not Burlingame.

And thanks to Rob, too, for providing an invaluable and great place to hang out!

I have never met Brian in person but since I have been a member here we have had some very informative(for me) discussions and I have used up some of his time that he could have been using to fill the cash drawer instead of blah blahing with me. Thanks
Even though I think there is alot of uninformed advice given here(not from Rifledriver) I think we all need to support this forum and we should all be subscribed members. Regards, Vern

I will second what Larry said about subscribing, and also about Brian. I met him this past weekend (2/12), and he is a first-class guy. If it weren't for the fact that my car was a little older than what he focuses on, nobody would be touching my car for repairs but him.

Thanks to Rob, and Brian, for helping make this forum so great.

One wonders if we shouldn't have a special thread saluting the small number of people who seem willing to bend over backwards to help Ferrari owners. in addition to Brian Crall, I would add Daniel Pass and Tim Stanford to that list, based on my personal experiences.

The sun came out, my flu eased up. Got a short ride in this morning, and taking the Testarossa over to the ocean in a couple of hours, for the dinner on the ocean my wife more than deserves.

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to BE here, and finally own a Ferrari, particularly a 12 cylinder. Looking at my 56th birthday in June, and this is a pretty good place to be.

Just joined FCA and I gather I'll be in the Pacific Region, so I'm looking forward to meeting some of you at some upcoming events.

When my license comes it will say "LW REDTR" so you should be able to find me : - )

I like to think of Rob Lay as a corner drug dealer. His dang website is like crack for Ferrari junkies. rifledriver is like the local meth clinic -- he keeps us from hurting ourselves when the red haze in our hearts overwhelms the green in our wallets.

Oh yeah, subscription is the way to go !! Rossa or Silver, it's all about supporting the site.

    Larry,

Welcome and congratulations on the car. The advice I've gotten and the friends I've made far outway the cost of a subscription. I just renewed for my 2nd year at fchat and look forward to many more.

I think this site is a great model for how the internet should be run. Small fees for a great community of knowledge and fun. If Rossa was the only subscription offered I think the site would be much less successful. I use this site more than the rest of the internet combined. Thanks Rob.

I had stated some time ago I would gladly pay $100.00 per year to keep the forum alive.

The information gained is absolutely invaluable, and I am always impressed with the talents that many members have and share.

I just bought a 360, and that purchase was predicated by all the valuable info I learned from what is available in this forum.

I have not yet posted info on the car, because of the two people who should know of its arrival, only one, the trusted mechanic, Brian Crall, does know.

The second person, my bride, has not been advised until the car arrives later this week. It will be a surprise but has been covered by the purchase of a new 530i for her! Have to plan correctly!

Aside from this aspect, there is at times considerable humor which I at least do enjoy.

So, Rob "Frito Lay", say the word and my $100.00 check is in the mail.

    Anyone else included?

    Hello...

I'm a novice to FerrariChat and first time posting. I'm learning the rules around this community. It can be intimidating with all the expertise and knowledge everyone has. I hope someone out there can help. I have an '85 308 QV that needs some minor work. I had an extremely horrible experience with a Ferrari "mechanic" in Campbell, California. Can anyone give me Brian Crall's phone number or the name of his shop in San Ramon, CA please?

We interrupt this lovefest to call your attention to a glaring injustice here:

Why do we V8 owners have to pay the same as the 12 cylinder guys? I vote we lower the Silver subscription rate to $11.25, as long as we promise not to clog the server with "8 cylinders or walk" signatures. I'm sure the ACLU would be interested in this.

You've clearly missed the fact that after a tune up, you have thousands of dollars more money left over as against us discriminated against 12 cylinder owners. If anything, we should start a 12 cylinder owner's 'relief' fund, including subsidized Rossa subscriptions.... : - )
