    Anyone in Sugar Land?

Seems like no one has even heard of it, and most of the car guys I meet are in North Houston (gosh, just five years earlier...)

Perhaps I can get a meet going if there are enough SLers!

Most of us who have the means live in the Central Houston/Memorial area or out towards the Woodlands. No offense, but why would a person with a choice live in Sugarland? Is that huge prison still right off the freeway in the middle of the community?

Sugarland's tight, but I do understand what you mean :)

Honestly though, I never knew where the prison was, and I still don't. I think I remember seeing it on Grand Parkway, but that might have been a high school.

The prison was about 4 miles after Sugar Creek Baptist Church. If your heading into Sugarland from Houston it's on the right hand side about 4 miles after Sugar Creek. The scary thing is that their are neighborhoods right near the facility. Can't be good for home values.

HAHA, speaking of clubs, they start just northeast of Sugarland off HWY 59.& Beltway 8. One of favorite places is the Colorado, ah the memories..:D

I grew up out there, sorta. Pecan Grove to be exact, but that was before it was all built up and pre-Grand Parkway. So, commutes through the prison farm were quite frequent, or rather, the only means to get out of the neighborhood for the most part. Sprawling outwards and outwards, Sugarland & Richmond has expanded quite a bit.

I live in Sugar Land but no Ferrari here. Theres actually 2 prisons in Sugar Land; one off highway 6 and 90 and the other one is off 99 and 90. Never really bothered me that they were there though. I love living in Sugar Land, its such a great and quiet place to live in.

Two? It's a bit bigger than that. I'm unsure if you are differentiating the prison farm sections as two different prisons or if they built another prison out there, which I don't believe they have. There is Jester I, II and III units out there and a psych ward as well, which was built around 90 or 91, IIRC.

Well let's see, prison, prison farm, phsyc wards... Not the area I want to raise my kids. Even with the lower property values and therefore taxes. I'll keep it on the Northside thank you very much.

Your posts in this thread and others have nothing constructive to say about Sugarland. I'm sure that city thanks you for not living there.

No profile. Nothing positive to say. Who are you again?

Oh really? But they are all around the same vicinity though. Basically the perimeter of hwy6, 90, 99 and Bisonnet is pretty much prison area. I never knew they had a psych ward.

....and as for this addidas guy, I have no idea who he is talking about Sugar Land like it's a horrible city. And as for the property values, they've actually sky rocketed around that area, ESPECIALLY in and around the prison area around Grand Parkway and 90. I think you might have some confusion about the area because the prisons are pretty much isolated away from the newer neighborhoods; they have tons of farmland around them. Sugar Land is really a beautiful city, you should visit it someday.

Five years or so earlier, I lived in Summerwood, close the Humble. That's a lot closer to the Woodlands and what not than Sugarland :(

Nothing in the original post said squat about not mentioning the shortcomings of the Sugarland area. So I will point them out if I wish.

Yeah, your right. I'm sure the city of Sugarland loves me not owning property there and running my business in their area so they cannot collect revenues from me.

    Imbecile.

If you want to live with a prison or 3 in plain sight, by all means do it. I own properties in the Woodlands and Copperfiled. I don't have prisons mucking up my view, just water and golf courses.

As far as no profile, alt.autos.ferrari knows me well as does the Viper club of America. I don't need or want to disclose anything. I didn't see it as a prerequisite to use this site.
Some of you guys are starting to sound like the Viper muscleheads I have to deal with on the Viper forum.

The bottom line is Sugarland is a joke compared to Memorial, or the Woodlands. But if that's where you choose to live, I could not care less. It's good to see poeple injecting money into that tax base. it's just not where I want to raise my kids. It must just be me, but I don't want my children seeing a prison next to their house...

You probably are well known in Usenet and Viper Club, but that's still no excuse to go OT and ruin a nice thread.

Plus, I'm still trying to figure out where all the prison's are. :)
I think you take things too seriously.

Anyone up for a KKK meet up in the Woodlands?

Plain sight is relative. You make it sound like Huntsville. Being a prison farm is a bit different than the profiles you see on the discovery channel. But if it is not to your liking, that's fine. I still cannot see what your objections are. Prison farm? Is that it? It is a big reason for those who havent' lived near one. But after living next to one for many years, it is a lot safer than most places around Houston. Escapes? Yes, they happen and when it does, you lock the doors to your homes.

Golf courses? Yes, many are in the area. Water? Yes, Sugarland has that too. The water is just as fake as the water in your area, just not large puddles. But I'm quite sure they didn't leave all the beaten down machinery in the bottom of the puddles like Lake Conroe.

Imbecile. Interesting. I've been called lots of things but never that. That indicates I have some IQ between 20 and 55. With that kind of IQ, I wouldn't be able to post, let alone make a post worthy of a response from the high and mighty viper owner.

The profile is not required for this site, but it is helpful to know at least where you are, even if it says Texas. Otherwise, with posts like yours, you come off as an average troll with nothing to say, just starting random arguments.

Heck, the Viper guys are on usenet? And I thought I was the only one still using newsgroups. So are you one of the guys that shows up to the Viper meets with the 1200hp shiney motor so everyone can get a hard-on? Or can you actually drive it?

LOL. A prison next to their house? You've clearly never been to Sugar Land if you think there's houses right next to the prisons. Maybe a couples miles away but not right next to them. You sure you're not getting it confused with Huntsville? Sugar Land is pretty big, theres plenty of houses that are in far distance away from the prisons. As for your children knowing theres a prison in Sugar Land...I don't see anything wrong with that. Somehow it's supposed to ruin their brain? Please!

Did you catch the news last night where a gang is robbing people in Sugarland wearing Halloweeen masks using stun guns? Great area indeed.

And yes I have been to Sugarland. I am an engineer and you drive past my work daily if you live in that place. Sugar Creek Baptist Church and the George Observatory to name a couple in that area.

No trouble on other sites. You have entirely missed the point. The Viper crowd tends to be the jar head small penis types. The Viper is a nice car and I enjoyed mine while I had it. But it does attract a certain "less intelligent" owner. The car lacks sophistication as well as it's owners. The bulk of the guys who post on the Viper Club of America site are overdosed on testosterone and cannot have a civil conversation.
Calling me an @sshole just shows your not much higher up on the foodchain than them.

Yeah, Apparently Money Magazine ALSO thinks it's a great area to live in. http://money.cnn.com/best/bplive/cities_table/ We made it to the top ten.

Sorry that you're experience in Sugar Land hasn't been the best.

I used to live in Marion, Ohio right next to a state penetentiary. It was the safest town I have EVER lived in. Your assumption that a town with a prison is dangerous or a bad place to live is totally preposterous. You need to get a grip on reality. Tall fences with barbed wire and guards with rifles makes me feel very safe. The chances of an inmate escaping at all are slim to none, and usually they dont make it very far. You need to understand that the people guarding those prisons are fully trained law enforcement employees who are not afraid to protect the people around the town at any cost. It sounds to me like you're a total tool with no understanding of just how safe and secure prisons really are. You think that raising a child in a prison town is bad? Look at me. I'm a successful young man who can fix just about any car. Dont believe me? Bring your rice on steroids over to my shop and I'll make it run better than any car you've ever had. PM me and I'll give you an address. Stop being a cocky butthole and maybe people will look upon you with a better attitude towards the stupid crap you are spewing. You say we're sounding like the Viper guys you "deal with" on other forums. Why dont you go back there and troll and stop annoying us? Loser.
