Suggested fix for door latch not engaging?

    My driver door has taken to occasionally bouncing back open when closed. Latch does not engage, intermittently. Adjusted striker with some but not complete success. latch engages when window is down or if upward pressure on door is applied. Anyone encounter a similar problem? any solutions? I know a new door latch and labor is about a grand. Thanks, Doug

    I had same problem with passenger door, took two minutes to adjust the latch, now it is ok.

    Just fixed one a few days ago... #1 had to adjust the height of the striker in the door jamb it was too hi... #2 we had to lube up the lactch mechanism in the door (actually took it out and cleaned it out with some contact cleaner and then lubricated it and reinstalled it and now it is perfect) (fixed the door switch in the latch at the same time)

    With the adjustment to the striker, mine now appears to be fixed. Perhaps the window was somewhat out of line...now that it has been lower and raised several times, the latch has no difficulty engaging even with tHe window up.

    Henry, the door isn't visably sagging but the striker is scuffed in top.

    Scott, I'll try cleaning latch as well, thanks. Doug
