The passenger seat on my 98 coupe is stuck in the rear most position. This is a problem as I want to remove the seats to clean them and the car besides I found $.53 under the driver’s seat. Split the take with the best suggestion?

    Thanks

Thats probably the best answer but now we will never know what is lurking under the seat. Might be more than $.76.

I have mine locked in the back position, but unlike you boys I did it myself on purpose. The seat would not stay in the back position because the adjustment bar would get pushed up by the bump in the floor board as the seat was moved back. As a result when I would come to a stop the seat would slide forward until it locked. Not fun for any passenger in the seat.

What I finally did was move the seal back and then removed the adjustment bar altogether. There is a locking mechanism on each seat rail. I propped them open with sockets and got the seat in the position I wanted, then using a long 1/2" ratchet extension I removed them and locked the seats in place. But as you guys have found out it's sort of a "permanent" fix.

So you are probably gonna have to use a LONG pry bar to get to the rail locks to unlock them. Then you'll be able to get to that $0.76 cents.
